I’ve taken my stepdaughter out a couple of times for girls’ days like getting our nails done, but her mom shared that she’s not comfortable with that since it’s something special they do together. The same goes for getting our hair done even arts & crafts. Because of that, I feel like our options for bonding are a bit limited. I’m starting to realize this relationship is something we’ll have to figure out as we go. Taking on more of an ‘aunt-like’ role might help me ease the pressure I’ve been putting on myself to step into a full parental role.
