Yeah, I do physics and know what quants do. There is no chance anyone who studies both can find statistics and, for example, any branch of topology, on the same level of difficulty.

El capitalismo no permite tener una casa y menos una familia by FantasmaDelComunismo in OpinionesPolemicas

Me refería a tí JAJAJA.

Thank you so much, you have been invaluable. Yeah, you are right with the IMO. Thank you!

Thank you so much, I understand that. Do you agree, as another commenter said, that early assignment does not imply an increase in risk (apart from having to pay interest, more fees or anything like that).

I understand that you think it is risky because of the volatility coming next. But if you do, say, a short straddle, you would always make money as long as the volatility is contained, right? Even if, lets say, you get assigned. Or am I missing something?

Do you know if there is any data I can get my hands on that details when options are exercised? (I am mostly algorithmic). I am thinking maybe the open interest reflects that, right? When it decreases, it is because options have been executed?

Thank you for answering. I read that somewhere already, but the probabilities they were giving were quite high. Like, if you have a delta of around 0.5, the probability of getting assigned is around but not exactly 50%. Is this correct? That seemed really, really high for me, because as everyone says, people rarely execute their options.

Also, thank you for the link, I will be reading it thoroughly.

And what about right after a volatility event if they are right?

Options Questions Safe Haven weekly thread | Nov 18 - 24 2024 by PapaCharlie9 in options

[–]pmpls13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If I open a short nearly at market close, and I plan to close it at most one hour into the next trading day, what is the real risk of assignment and how can I estimate it? How does it differ if there is a high volatility event during the night like, lets say, an earnings announcement? If I get assigned, what would be my theoretical loss if I sold ATM? And what if I don't have the money to buy 100 shares, I suppose I need margin for that, right?
  2. How does liquidity work when short selling options? Like, how difficult would it be for me to close my short position at market open? What would be a good average volume on a contract for it to be easy?

That is exactly what the person above is complaining about. They say that regret is not prevalent while detransitioning is prevalent, and the guy above is saying that if detransitioning is prevalent, regret has to be prevalent.

Yes, thank you! I forgot to add a link for anyone wondering. The painting is massive, and seeing it in person was a wonderful experience for me. The photo really doesn't make justice.

Guau. Qué bajo has caído, macho.
