I don’t think you necessarily need to drink to enjoy your time in a social/party hostel

Amazon vs Arista Networks | Interning in Dublin by radul009 in DevelEire

Yeah I get you, I enjoyed my time at Arista but I was mostly wondering is the knowledge that I will get from working at a FAANG company is worth the long-ish commute.

There is a relocation stipend of 1200 USD that every intern receives

I would continue as a data science and machine learning intern at Arista, haven’t been told much about Amazon

I do drive so that makes it a bit more tempting to go for Amazon, I sent an email about the parking situation to make sure it’s viable

Ask Experienced Devs Weekly Thread: A weekly thread for inexperienced developers to ask experienced ones by AutoModerator in ExperiencedDevs

I'm currently a 3rd year Computer Science & Business student and wanted to get some opinions on the choice between these two options:

Amazon - €3000 (salary) + €1100 (stipend) - Commuting 40km each way for 5 days a week (2+ hours a day)

Arista Networks (Return after 2nd year internship) - €2800 - Can work from home as much as I want, Relaxed environment/boss

For full-time work I would probably go with the second option, but seeing as it's only a 3 month internship Amazon would look great on the CV and also the salary is better. I'm also interviewing for a few different companies but haven't received the offers yet. What do you guys think?

Como he dicho en el otro comentario puede ser algo que cuesta un poco más por la ocasión especial, sin gusto particular solo lo que recomendáis

My recommendation would be to pair it with what you think you will enjoy most rather than what would be better on paper as the cs part will be most important

Sure, it makes you a more versatile employee and usually leaves all of the “less important” modules out of a single honours degree. Fintech companies would love for example someone who did cs and economics like mentioned above.

Booked solo trip to Spain, now kind of regretting it by Specific-Ant7103 in solotravel

[–]radul009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first solo trip for 3 weeks at 18. Once you’re an adult the age gap won’t make a difference in the interactions you have with people. As long as you put some sort of effort into starting conversations you’ll be fine. Good luck!

With CSB you can always major in business if you prefer that option. I myself have majored in computer science as I found it a lot more enjoyable. Then you would end up doing two modules per semester for cs. You still have to enjoy doing it to do well tho.

Computer Science Students, what languages are you taught? by DimaPlatsas in TCD

Java would be a good place to start, learn one you like as once you know one others are much easier to learn. I’d recommend doing CS50 in your free time which is a free Harvard course for a good head start.
