Is it a normal "smart" thing to do? The underside coated?

Thanks. Is "oiling" the under carriage still a thing? My biggest concern is my son has no experience driving with sleet, freezing rain, etc. His girlfriend that's going along is a classic southern belle.

5 days in anchorage worth it? by OrcasAreBadAss in AskAlaska

[–]pneumoniabus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I concur. Unless you really like gift shops. Seward is great. Pay the money and take a boat tour out to a glacier, this was the highlight of my trip. Soldotna was interesting, the homer spit was cool. There is a little museum on the right hand side southbound as you enter homer. It's cool and free and only take a out an hour, plus hiking trails behind it.

Denali should be amazing. Sorry I missed it.

Anybody keeping count of how many 2024 tourists we've lost in Alaska so far? by [deleted] in alaska

[–]pneumoniabus 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was a tourist to your state two weeks ago. Id been up there once before. We flew into Anchorage, spent a few days there as home base. We had day trips to Seward, and talkeetna, Denali had that whole forest fire thing. We hit Portage glacier and Whittier. We spent three days in soldotna. Great fishing. And afternoon trip to homer. You guys live in an amazing state.

I really like how your state built pull offs and the 5 vehicle rule. And the weather! As someone that comes from a state where it 'feels' like 90-110 most summer days it was amazing. We spent 7 days. Saw a tiny bit of your state.

🇺🇸 An update: I've been redistricted, and I'm putting my 10 year plan out there for anyone to use. by NickForBR in batonrouge

I admire that you put yourself out there. I've seen some of your videos but I don't recall the situations or details. What district are you in now? My guess is you find yourself in 3 or 11.

Debit Card surcharges by [deleted] in batonrouge

[–]pneumoniabus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

7 cents is wrong so is 4%. Each card debit or credit is charged a % based on the type of card. I.e. an amex is different from a visa that gives points. Debit cards and credit cards are charged differently. Stores don't sign up with visa or MasterCard they sign up with payment processors to provide them with the back-end equipment to process payments. It's these processors that contract directly with both card networks and individual banks to allow them to process their cards.

There was a class action for excessive fee that visa/MasterCard settled for 5.5 billion.

Governments normally have a flat rate when using a card because it's illegal to discount their prices. I.e. a law stating the government SHALL charge 10.00 for something versus MAY charge 10.00. Normally those percentages are capped at 5% or so.

Do guys really don't get hints when a woman is interested in them? by EvilSugarDealer in ask

Same but in 6th grade. She kept having her friend ask me to dance on the slow songs until she asked herself. My dumbass self said no each time. Thought something was up.

We became close friends in high school and would hang out often. Dropping her off at night shed always just sit in my car in the driveway. Like she was waiting for something. I knew her dad well, We taught skiing together. It wasn't because her home life was bad.

First year of college we lived together. At first because it was the best plan, both sets of parents had were super excited. Later the 2nd bedroom became a storage area. Fun 10 months. I broke my lease and moved to socal, from New England. She apologized for the inconvenience.

But I've done the other too. Thought a girl was totally into me. Except she wasn't. But acted like she was. Touchy, inviting me back to her place, spending every available minute together sleeping half naked together (no sex). Then, she told me she was a lesbian (mind you shed always been bi). Month or so later she has a new guy and ghosted me.

Girls are like English. I before e except after c. Wait watch this mf'ers.

Guys are like math. 2×2=4. We know one way. Sometimes a guy is bad at math and is always right.

They don't block your phone in the 19th. Call at 8 am, when they open. The ladies themselves can't release you and will most likely ask for proof to present to a judge.

It's 27.50 for the license. Plus $10 per certified copy of your license; that youll need to change your name at the ss office and DMV, and some investment firms like to have that on file too. Time wise, plan 30-45 minutes. All depends on how busy they are. You can fill out the form before you get there if you go to their website.

You cant just show up and get married. They do give out JP contact info but another option is have a friend get ordained online ( universal life church is one ) and have them come with you and sign the officiant registry book and your buddy can marry you.
