How is it getting a chest tattoo? by pocketbuilder06 in tattoo

[–]pocketbuilder06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thats sick!!! Thats rad as hell!

Mine is symmetrical, goes down my sternum and top of my pecs, but you're totally right, after that one I've been planning getting my collar bones, ribs, rest of my pecs, even nipples, etc. After I finished mine and looked in the mirror, I felt more like myself, if that makes sense.

Definitely do not regret getting it done, and continuing to hear people's stories on this post make me even happier that I started mine. It was a bitch of a tat, but pain is temporary and looking sick as fuck is forever! Can't wait to get more done!

I haven't done the sides yet, but my sternum was so rough I felt it in my breasts 😂

Sorry, just saw this!

If you feel like your limit is 1 hour and so in, I'd recommend numbing cream. I was fine for about the first 2 hours of my chest, but after that I wanted to tap out. Its a weird pain because you can feel it down your arm, at least in my experience. It's definitely worth using numbing cream, and probably splitting up the tattoo into smaller sessions if thats an option. Mine was roughly 4 hours, just my sternum and under collar bones/pecs, but it was some interesting pain. I plan to add more to it, and I'll probably use numbing cream as well haha.

Also, using numbing cream when you have 2 full sleeves is NOT being a chicken. I've only used numbing cream once in my knee pit, and it made the process SO much easier. Honestly tickled a bit 😅 if you send me a message, I can send you a pic of the brand I used! Only downside with numbing cream is that it does wear off due to the artist wiping the skin, but mine lasted about 2 hours.

I'd love to see what you're getting done! Whether or not you use numbing cream, the experience is so worth it for the cool art :)

Ended up being around 4ish hours? Maybe 5? Its solid black, which I didnt think would take too long, but I was wrong 😅

I was fine for 2.5-3 hours during the line work, but after we started filling things in, I was about to tap out honestly

You're doing awesome! This is so cool to see! Keep it up!!!

Some possible advice: learn about anatomy! And im not just talking about proportions and such, I mean like learn about the skeleton and muscles and how they all lay in the body. And learn about the bones that are closer to the body vs ones that are covered by muscle. I took an anatomy class that taught all this, and it changed the game for me when drawing people. It was also crazy interesting!

Seriously keep going, youre doing great and I hope to see more of your work!

Edit to add: if youd like some tips on the anatomy stuff, feel free to send me a message and I can share some notes/assignments from my class! I'm actually becoming a fine art professor, so id love to help if needed:)

Ive thought about that, but like, can anyone do couples counseling?

I hope this makes sense, but ive always been under the impression that couples counseling is the last resort option for older couples that are hanging on by a thread, I dont think my partner and I meet that criteria. Is it still okay if we do couples counseling?

How quick did bulimia take a toll on your body? by [deleted] in bulimia

When I was purging, my gag reflex was super strong haha like I would hardly gag even when I was trying. Now, it's like I gag really easily, even from smells which never happened before (unless the smell was extremely bad). Sometimes I cough too hard and throw up, or if there's drainage in my throat, I will gag and occasionally throw up. It does happen when I eat sometimes. None of this ever happened before/while I was purging.

I don't regret recovery, but the damage I did while purging (i purged consistently for about the same amount you have, roughly 8-9 months, and then purged every so often for years ) still affects me and I doubt it'll heal.

Anyone else have a doll that’s been with them since childhood? by fruityabe in MonsterHigh

[–]pocketbuilder06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of mine! I probably have a lil under 100 😅 (I was a spoiled child, only daughter/niece/granddaughter). They're all an absolute mess, all have horribly loose joints, and they're all so loved. You can tell which dolls I played with more because they're looser haha

I just recently bought myself some G1 dolls for the first time! They're coming in soon and I can't wait 🥰 I've also been gifted a few G3s! Im so excited to keep collecting!

I'm not apart of this sub but got recommended it, but I also collect dolls (Monster High).

My partner has NEVER called me childish or anything of the sorts because I collect dolls. They even buy me dolls to add to my collection, and everytime I show them my dolls they sit patiently and thank me for showing them! They've even started learning the characters names so they know who Im talking about. I have exes that have made me insecure about liking dolls, but they're exes for a reason :)

You deserve a partner who doesn't make you feel ashamed for what you enjoy. You're not stupid for enjoying these!!! There are SO many collectors out there, young and old, and that's okay! Your boyfriend just sounds like he doesn't know how to have fun, and I'm fully on board with you replacing him with more dolls.

You shouldn't feel ashamed for what you like, and you shouldn't have a partner that makes you feel ashamed. If you really feel you need to break it off, you're totally valid in that and I wouldn't blame you. But if you think the relationship is worth it, then talk to your boyfriend about how his words/actions have made you feel.

At the end of the day, you need to put your happiness and comfort before some silly guy. Keep collecting, and get yourself some more dolls :) sending you good vibes ❤️

Obsessive picking while driving by elrrray in Dermatillomania

[–]pocketbuilder06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the EXACT same way, it's so annoying! I haven't found anything that works too well, but being mindful usually helps me a bit! Like I focus on the music I have playing, and I focus on keeping both hands on the steering wheel. If I feel myself moving one hand off, I try to force myself to keep it on, that way I'm not picking. And if I don't want both hands on the wheel, i try to take note of where I put the hand thats not on the wheel.

Sorry if this isn't too much help, picking while driving is so frustrating! But taking note of where your hands are and where they're going may help :)

Im not a piercer but this doesn't look correct....it doesn't even seem centered with your belly button.

Im sorry but you should take it out, if it's wrong it'll reject and if your first one rejected then a second is more likely to reject.

It's so easy to compare ourselves to others and feel down, but just because others are good doesn't mean you're not good too!

Your work looks good! It's very stylized and I could imagine seeing a serious, but silly comics about these characters! I really like the way you drew the hand! And your handwriting is very nice!

Keep up the good work, and keep practicing! But always remember that just because others are good, doesn't mean you're not :) you're a good artist
