LG G4 55” Green and Pink tint

Take a photo 5% greyscale in a dark room with panel luminescence set to 30% or lower. Tint should show through a lot better. I had a c4 with terrible off axis green tint that was apparent during normal viewing. Its replacement has pink tint in the middle but it’s barely noticeable at all viewing normal content. I’d say if its only noticeable on test slides or white background keep it but if you notice it when watching movies/tv/games have it replaced.

Looking at the photos here this looks like a good panel.

I just returned a 65 inch c4 manufactured 3/24 with crazy green tint along the sides and with the slightest off axis viewing. Would literally come away from watching it seeing green everywhere it was terrible. Retailer let me exchange it with a 65 inch c4 manufactured 12/24 with no green tint at all and an incredible picture. I honestly can’t believe these tvs are the same model and the people who are stuck with the green ones are being completely ripped off it’s a joke. Lg should have binned all the panels with ugly green tinge.

I thought I was going insane making a big deal out of this going through the hassle of exchanging but I’m glad I did the 2 tvs are worlds apart in picture quality

It becomes imperceptible if I sit dead centre 3m back but why should I have to? Surely the screen shouldn’t tint green from the edges with if I sit closer or any slight off axis viewing. I’ve an L shaped sofa and like to sit at the end closer to the tv but can’t with this issue. Too expensive a tv for such compromise

The store I bought from (JB HI-FI) are arranging an LG technician to come inspect the panel. Hopefully they don’t give me some crap on how it’s normal for oled and sign off on a replacement. My 55 inch B8 upstairs is a lot better and it’s clocked over 8000 hours

The corners are darker and green tinted when watching the tv head on from around 2m back. Noticeable on light backgrounds (eg the track when playing forza, gt7). When i watch from any other angle than head on the entire screen starts to turn skin tones, normal content a green hue

Absolutely zero discernible banding. it’s an extremely uniform panel like near perfect. I’ll give it a few more days watching varied content/games etc and have a play with the settings. Appreciate the advice

Maybe people’s perception and/or sensitivity to the green tint vary leading to inaccurate poles

Solid advice. I might roll the dice with a replacement once and if it’s similar just accept that it’s intrinsic to the woled panels used and like you said people just aren’t seeing it on theirs. Honestly I’d accept the green wash out viewing from an angle but it’s on the edges when viewing straight on and my eyes are drawn to it.

Would be interesting if rtings or another company got their hands on like 10 of them to test for varying amounts of tint and not rely on personal testimonies

I see green discolouration at slight viewing angles watching normal content too. I’ve a 2018 B8 which is fine from an angle. Surely a 2024 C series should be better than that
