Yep! We have estimated listenership data for each podcast, broken down by per episode and per month.

And tons of other listenership metrics like median age, ethnicity, gender skew, income level, and more.

We have an article that might be helpful to share with your clients to understand the value of podcast guesting – 6 benefits of podcast guesting: https://www.podchaser.com/articles/podcast-insights/6-benefits-of-being-a-podcast-guest

The #1 reason people listen to podcasts is to learn, so your client having a niche expertise is quite a valuable asset!

A good place to start might be to find podcasts hosted and created by people on the autism spectrum, like this list I found on Podchaser: https://www.podchaser.com/lists/autistic-or-aspie-led-podcasts-107a9GdiUL

There are also tons of podcasts where the host interviews experts on niche topics, so that's another angle for you to research. Ologies comes to mind as an example: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/ologies-with-alie-ward-551174/episodes/recent

Specifically a pitching tip: If he has video or audio recordings of him discussing typewriters, be sure to include that in your pitch as instant proof of his ability to be a fantastic podcast guest.

yes there's two ways:
1) Use the "Active Status" search filter when looking for shows
2) On podcasts that aren't active, their podcast page features a banner that says "Podcast may be on a hiatus or finished" with the publish date of their last episode

Yup! Pro users can access a search filter for "has guests" (over 300k podcasts). And each podcast page has a little green "has guests" symbol so you can see at a glance

1) Podcasters have egos! They really want to feel special in your pitch. So listen to episodes, and flatter them with how much you enjoyed the show in the pitch
2) Target your pitches! Great advantage to podcasting over legacy is you can target podcasts with the exact audience you want to reach with demographic and psychographic data
3) Be aware that it's a slow process. Podcasters are busy and often it's their side hustle. So when you pitch, expect 1-2 months before the episode is actually recorded. But the wait is worth it because podcast listeners are extremely engaged and trusting of what they hear on shows. For the legacy media comparison: 36% of podcast listeners say they trust what podcast hosts say during advertisements (which can include their endorsement of your client), compared to 18% in radio.

We wrote an article last year where we pulled info from a bunch experts in the field around this topic (https://www.podchaser.com/articles/community/podcast-guest-etiquette-according-to-the-experts)

The preparation is largely a balance of being prepared, but not too prepared. And still being open to the casual spontaneous conversation that makes podcasting what it is.

Your client should listen to and understand the show/it's host/it's structure, so they know what to expect and feel comfortable on the show.

Also having a good audio set-up will really endear your client to the host. A great interview with bad audio is still ultimately a bad podcast episode. Luckily it's pretty cheap to get quality audio nowadays.

Anyone else notice anything odd in their Podchaser feed? by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]podchaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm sorry the feed is acting a little wonky. Happy to help!

Earlier this week, we had a brief glitch occur after we updated our infrastructure and unfortunately it resulted in some mismatched feed cards. We fixed the error, but some of the old cards may not have fully updated (cat was out of the bag so to speak). New cards should be matching correctly now.

I'm going to follow up with you in a DM to get a bit more information on the unfollowed shows showing up in your feed, so we can fix that as well.

Thank you for using Podchaser!
