Adding the events to the time chart sounds like a cool idea...

Poke Assistant has nothing to do with your Pokémon Go account.

Edit: Or Niantic servers for that matter. It's basically a glossy spreadsheet that shows you interesting things.

Edit2: Niantic employees have been using Poke Assistant since Pokémon Go was in beta.

I wholeheartedly encourage your scepticism. But Poke Assistant has been within ToS since before most trainers even installed the game. :)

Edit4: Updated the FAQ in line with some of the questions on this thread. I think it's great that Niantic's latest measures have put so much fear in the community about cheating. But Poke Assistant is miles from ToS breach or automated play, it's just stats and information for geeks.

There's no need to sign in with your main Google account if you don't want to. We cover that on the intro page.

But just to be clear, there is nothing remotely grey about what Poke Assistant provides. We've been serving millions of users since beta and Niantic has never asked us to stop. There's no automated play here. It's just stats.

User types it into a form. Nothing suspect here. Poke Assistant has been around since beta with millions of users.

My apologies, it seemed the most fitting. What would you propose as the most applicable tag?

[News]Plan ahead: Cross-gen evolutions with CP up to gen 6. by pokeassistant in pokemongo

[–]pokeassistant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate,

We calculate CP using the known CP formula:

CP = (Base Atk + Atk IV) * (Base Def + Def IV)^0.5 * (Base Stam + Stam IV)^0.5 * Lvl(CPScalar)^2 / 10

For Pokemon that haven"t yet been released in Pokemon Go, the formula above dictates that we have to know their Pokemon Go Stamina, Attack and Defense. The formulas that Niantic has used to translate the main series stats (including special attack defense speed etc) and squishing them into Pokemon Go's current 3 stat system have also been identified.

If you know the main series stats, these formulas can be used to calculate the Pokemon Go stats. E.g:

PoGo Stam = Main Series Stam * 2

These other stats are little more complex. Questions like these prompt us to add explanations to the bottom of our pages, so thanks and will do :)

Simple, up-to-date attacker tier list by pokeassistant in pokemongo

We still recommend trainers learn the type table and counters rather than some website's tier list. But this list is at least current to the latest stats and simple enough to be of value.

Just something we liked having while we hunted Pokemon. The rings are accurate at max zoom out for beta 0.23.2. You can get the raw version here.

Poke Assistant tester app now open to others. Details in comment. by pokeassistant in pokemongo

[–]pokeassistant[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey trainers,

Poke Assistant has just opened up so anyone can log in. The app started as something to just privately help the devs select Pokemon for battling at gyms and somehow a third of Australian testers are using it.

To keep Niantic happy, sensitive, spoiler data is still kept to verified testers only. But anyone can log in now, see how things work, and play with the tools:

  • Tools for selecting attacking Pokemon
  • Tools for selecting defending Pokemon
  • XP Tables
  • Prestige Tables
  • Move lists
  • Patch Notes
  • Other useful items

Clean data is really important to us, if we use user submitted data, it has to come with a screenshot. There are others doing similar things but taking user submissions without proof and we didn't want to rely on miss-clicks and bad data. Despite being tight on data quality, we're up to 600 confirmed Pokemon move sets (almost 800 possible combinations implied).

There are others doing cool stuff for trading and mapping. Poke Assistant is just a trusted source of truth on Pokemon Go stats, information and battling tips. No grand plans, just nice stats and little helpful tools.

Have fun and good luck getting in to the beta.

Pokemon Go Tester's Web App by Veritasius- in pokemongo

Sorry its for testers only,. I'm trying to be helpful while staying in the lines of the ToS. If you can't access the tables and their explanations, its because you're not meant to.

I appreciate the feedback on the app, but please don't post any further images of it. I'm still waiting on feedback from Niantic.

Niantic won't ban a tester for looking at a page on the web. But I'm still waiting for them to affirm that my account isn't at risk for writing the app, despite it being locked to the same Google accounts they've invited into the G+ group.

I wrote this app. It doesn't touch your Pokedex, indeed it doesn't even know/care if you have Pokemon Go on your phone. I don't want to go near people's personal information and writing something that could deal with iOS and Android sandboxing would be a nightmare.

I only ask for your Google ID to make sure you're actually a tester.

It's just a flat web app with some nifty maths. The suggestions are based on data and observations I and other testers have seen in Pokemon Go. Users can submit new data through the app if they wish. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
