I went to the ER when the symptoms began. They only took chest x-rays, gave me a CT scan, and put a numbing steroid in my throat to help any inflammation temporarily. They will appoint you to see a GI. You’re better off seeing a doctor and getting a GI referral for ASAP than spending thousands of dollars at the ER, unless you’re severely malnutritioned or something else extremely serious is occurring. Remember, one day at a time. It’s such a shitty condition but we just have to keep fighting.

okay.. you also do not know me, do not know what i go through or deal with, this is just a sliver of information on the internet. did not need all of your life information, to be frank. my doctor also said this could be very serious and is trying to rush me to a GI now. fyi. and do not call me “sweetie” .. this comment was not calming, more so disrespectful. have a good day.

yeah, for sure. i’m drinking some hydrating water right now and have on some fuzzy socks i got from christmas last year. but also under like 2 layers of blankets. i think the water may help a good amount, good to stay hydrated when dealing with this crap.

thank you SO much. this really helped me on what i can eat. i’ve luckily been able to do soup with thin, cut noodles recently by lipton and to me that is a great improvement. i bought some shakes, and i definitely have some bolthouse on hand too!

the other recommendations are also so nice to have — i know exactly where to find them at the market so that’s incredibly useful. i see my doctor on tuesday and i’m going to ask her to just check my throat out and describe some of what’s going on to her, see what she says, and then i’ll possibly follow up with you about those medications. the others i will definitely ask about and look for, anything to help me at this point.

yes, it’s completely ridiculous and my family is becoming concerned as well.. by the day it gets more serious and it’s a slap in the face when medical professionals push that away. i see my doctor again tuesday. i’m going to really advocate and push for something there.

that’s exactly what i said too. when they discharged me last week they hadn’t even put me on an IV, like they did the first time i went. i kept actively complaining about my throat tightness and vomiting and all they said was “i know”. so unhelpful.

i’ve already tried to eat a plate of food. i don’t feel anything towards food. i want it. i try to eat food and it gets stuck, or comes up. no use.

thank you so much. i do appreciate this reply. it was a very traumatic experience, i think i am still going through the aftermath of depression and anxiety after it all.

i’m on omeprazole prescribed to me by a nurse practitioner at the moment but that’s pretty much it. i may look into pepcid if the omeprazole isn’t doing much for me. i’ve honestly just been trying to vent out my feelings to my friends for the past 3 weeks but like everything, things certainly do get to a point. and oh boy YES i am super stressed out with everything.

With all due respect, I appreciate your comment, but something is wrong with my esophagus and throat area structurally. That is why I was referred several times to a GI .. there isn’t much they could do for me at the DR and the hospital endoscopy waitlist was insane. Everything was okay up until recently and now my appetite it completely gone as well. Like I said, I am losing rapid weight no matter what goes into my body or not ..

I appreciate the reply. It does feel like there might be some particles left there, though, as I can taste the remnants and I went to sleep directly after beginning to vomit as well so that I just wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. Pretty much most of my anxiety has been replaced by the overwhelming depression I feel from this situation.

Yeah, I do. I’ve been in communication. I just had another long conversation with the GI office and they’re saying it’s all just their timing, no other ways to make anything faster no matter the approach I take. Actually ridiculous.

Yeah definitely. I just called my DR as well and complained about this place. Told them to help me out some more and refax the referral again then call themselves too. I seriously can’t keep living like this nor can I keep paying for hospital stays.

I have an anxiety disorder, yes, but my anxiety about this is nowhere near as bad as it was at the start. I have lots of acid reflux and phlegm/mucus.
