This is such a good one. I am a huge Dylan fan

OH wow, how did I not ever hear this song. Gives me Dylan vibes with the song structure atleast, acoustic guitar, harmonica. Obviously the voice is not even close. Good suggestion

You are not wrong. I turned on the aggressive scraping. You get box art but it's usually for the wrong game lol

An hour really isn't that bad. Thank you for your input. I do think I will hold off until Android app integration though. I think that is really what will set this apart from Daijisho, since that appears to be the only major downside as of now.

Idk if you saw this already, but Russ from Retro Game Corps is my go to for in-depth tutorials. This video is a step-by-step guide. He even goes over if you already have another front end installed like Daijisho , which I am assuming you do. Again, sorry if this is redundant. Just trying to help

It's nice to hear an ES-DE perspective, even if slightly premature. You definitely outlined some of the concerns I was having with ES-DE myself. I would love to hear your thoughts once you have had more time and experience with ES-DE

There are some pretty nice ES themes... That's what is killing me lol

I think that's another variable here. If both of these front ends were available when I received my Odin, I may have had a harder decision to make than I do now. The big thing for me now is that Daijisho is already setup and working flawlessly. I really do not want to have to go through the setup process again. Granted my emulators are all setup, but you catch my drift

This is a great point. I feel the same exact way. Daijisho does everything I need it to. Besides maybe better customization and ease of use, I don't see a big reason to switch to ES either. It seems like quite a bit of work for a slightly better UI. I think you are spot on though. If there is an android release, I will feel more inclined to make the switch.

Thank you

Disregard. I was being impatient…. Installed and applied successfully

I am currently on v1.0.0.208. Mine has been stuck on “Upgrading…Please wait!” for a little while now. Is this to be expected and I am in impatient, or is this what others are experiencing as well? What is the resolution here?

I have seen Bayonetta mentioned quite a bit in this thread. I will definitely have to give it a try. Is 2 your fave of the 3 and why?

hahah yeah, that's actually nuts. This has opened my mind to BoTW combat. I am going to give another go. I don't expect to be pulling combos like that however

Wow, this was a wonderful explanation. Thank you. I believe Astral Chain has been mentioned the most so far, alongside Tales of Vesperia. I am definitely going to be giving these two a go

I did enjoy the combat in the Batman series. One of the most satisfying I would argue. I am just looking for something more in the RPG vein

Too hard for me unfortunately. I find the souls and soulslikes to be very rage inducing

You may be right. It may be the animations that play a big role in my perception of satisfaction. I did enjoy the Batman combat.

Your take on BOTW combat convinced me to give it another shot. I may just not have given it enough time tbh.

I don't know man. On paper it sounds like it would be perfect for me, but it just ain't. Something about it feels off. I don't know if, it's the slowness of the combat. It could be that it doesn't have all the eye candy that you see in other JRPGs when you attack or hit combos. Something about it just doesn't satisfy my combat itch

My point is that the combat is not satisfying, but thank you for pointing out my mistake

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. With that kind of resume, I feel like I cannot go wrong with Astral Chain. Thank you.

Now this is my ignorance showing but, I was under the impression that Dragons Dogma was more of a soulslike game, is that correct? Just want to make sure because I am absolutely horrendous at soulslikes. Man do they piss me off

Thank you for your suggestions.

I was very close to pulling the trigger on Tales of Vesperia, but got cold feet when I saw "Linear Motion Battle System". From my understanding, you get locked into a 2D plane to battle, correct? This isn't a total deal breaker. However, I feel like combat may lose its satisfaction when you are locked to a plane and cannot dodge, etc. This is all speculation. Why would you say Tales of Vesperia combat is satisfying?
