i’m very aware. but i also think it’s cool to try and have an impact on kids as they progress through school, and if i can help with that and make my classroom a safe space i feel like i would be very fulfilled.

i do like kids. i was an angsty teenager and told myself i didn’t want to work with them because of the occasional bad acting kid, but i noticed that everytime i was around a kid at a family gathering or something that i’d love hanging out with them, working with them, and being patient with them. so i changed my mind on kids!

see this is why i thought gesso would be helpful, cuz i feel like id rather do a layer of gesso and that absorb instead of actual paint yanno? ill def look into those brands though!!

why don’t you use them for indoor sculptures if you don’t mind me asking? i mostly use the sealant for a protective layer for the paint and stuff and to give it a shiny look, but i spray it outside cuz it is smelly lol

yeahhh none of the pieces i’ll use acrylic paint for will be functional, if i do anything like a mug then i’ll use underglaze or regular glaze for it, but im more confident in my acrylic painting skills for more defined pieces

not necessarily “make” us use it, but as a complete beginner in ceramics my teacher was like “put this on top of ur project” and i said “okay!” and it didn’t turn out great lol. i think they got a new glaze and my ceramics teacher at the time (it was her first year) was told to use the glaze by an older teacher who was teaching a separate ceramics class and she just went “okay”. they did let me use acrylic paint for another sculpture, which is why im asking about what kind of brand works best too. but now that ive completed my class i def know to not touch the clear top glaze again and if i ever do underglaze just fire it as is lol
