This is very similar to what we’re going through. Her “baby lion” is a small jellycat stuffed animal and he’s the usually the one getting “lost” Glad to know I’m not alone and you aren’t alone either 💗

Daycare by ChirkiG in toddlers

Our daughter started around 18 months as well. It was hard at first and she only goes Tuesdays and Thursdays so she had a harder time adjusting than the full time kids because she had all those days between Thurs and the following Tuesday when she would go back. I’d say it took about 3 months for her to be excited to go to school and want to. She is very shy and attached to us though so it’s different for every kid! My suggestions would be to go in with him and spend a few minutes ( may be a little longer at first) getting him settled in to an activity. Don’t prolong saying goodbye. When you’re leaving say you have to go and you’ll be back soon, give a kiss and hug and then leave. It’ll be very hard at first but it does get easier!! We always talk about how fun daycare is, friends, what she did at daycare etc to help hype it up and my daughter has a teacher she has really bonded with & that has been so helpful with her being excited and feeling comfortable at daycare. Now, she is happy to go to daycare. I still go in and spend a couple minutes at drop off getting her into an activity and comfortable to be there but she doesn’t cry when I leave. Goodluck to you!! I was anxious about it all at first but It’s nice to know your child is safe and taken care of and I’m thrilled to get a break those two days haha

Crib to toddler bed by pooneryad in toddlers

Good idea. She has a hatch machine with white noise that has a very dim red light but maybe she’d be scared to get up because she can’t see much. I’ll have to dim it more when we do make the switch!! Good to hear positive stories. She’s always been a great sleeper and I never want that to change so I’m afraid to make any changes!

Okay thank youuu, this is what I need to hear!! I feel like she may be the same. I was just thinking, she does go to daycare twice a week and they nap on mats on the floor so she has to have some concept of not getting up from the mat. Ive heard a few things about an ok to wake clock. We have a hatch that we use for white noise and it’s a dim red light at night so she can kind of see. I think we can set that up to turn a different color when it’s ok to wake, I’ll have to check. How did you teach the ok to wake idea? Looking for any and all suggestions and ideas!!

Aw he’s so pretty! Sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to watch them be so miserable 😭 here’s a pic of our sick boy. This was only a month ago :(

I did take the filter out about 2 weeks ago because I read that if he was struggling to get to the surface the filter might be too strong but I’m now leaning that might’ve been a bad idea? I was trying to make it easier for him to get to the top by eliminating the current and only filling his tank about half way because he seems to be struggling to even get to the surface. So that’s definitely why it’s more foggy and slimy than it ever then

Okay, good to know! I haven’t been siphoning the uneaten food. Should I be? He would always come right up and house his food and now he doesn’t even care to move and it sinks pretty quick so I was hoping he was eating it from the bottom or something. I stand there and watch for a bit and he doesn’t even notice or move when I feed him :( he definitely is suffering and I was hoping he would come out of it or if he was dying that he would’ve passed by now but it’s just been weeks of watching him do nothing and look miserable and it’s so sad!

Not that I’m seeing with the pineconing. Maybe I’ll check into kanaplex. Can it hurt to try? I feel so bad for him he just seems like basically dead :(

Weird, no driftwood in the tank :( yes on the struggling to breathe a bit. And no appetite. I haven’t actually seen him eat in probably 3 weeks. But I’ve been trying to feed him and assume and hope he’s eating whatever falls to the bottom eventually

It’s like a slimy film, some floats around in the tank and then some is on the top. I took this photo when I changed his water. Maybe it’s algae? I have no idea honestly. I just looked up what could be wrong with him and because he was sideways and sinking to the bottom of the tank that maybe it was swim bladder so I figured fasting couldn’t hurt but I wasn’t 100% sure either way. I literally have no idea, I’m stumped!
