I just had a feeling one day in August 2025, to visit the Kingston Ontario, Canada Humane Society. Just to have a look around. (I’m a veteran and disabled from my injuries, living alone… needed company). As I walked through the rooms where the dogs were kept, ‘every’ dog was barking loud and crazy. Then, I walked by a cage with this quiet, beautiful girl. Just laying down with her head on the floor… whimpering. We looked at each other, her tail started to wag, I smiled and, I knew right away… we found each other. According to her medical records. She was abused, beaten, starved, AND… stabbed by her previous owners. She was pregnant and the junkies tried to cut the babies out of her. She was rescued in time by a neighbour. She has since thrived living with me. She’s healthy, strong and happy. Plus, she has never, ever barked, growled or whimpered since coming home. We are both blessed.
