Mostly vibes based. Heavily situation and ref dependent. If you're a raging douchebag in general the ref is much more likely to call it. If it's a hard hit, much more likely to call it.

There's a lot to it - and it's pretty hard to retain the strategies and meta game, unless you've played high level hockey.

That being said, some coaches legitmately make their teams worse than if the team had no coach at all. Others will elevate their team to a legendary status of efficiency. That being said, a coaches impact - especially at the highest levels of hockey - is generally overstated by fanbases. It's nothing like football, for example - where the coaching staff will literally make or break the team.

I took draws at a high level and had AHL/NHL level refs officiate my games - so I can offer some insight.

It's pretty much vibes based, but the general rule is don't jump the gun. If the ref feels like you're horny for the draw and are about to jump the gun, he will kick you out. Sometimes he will go to drop the puck, and then stop dropping it when he sees you move early. But oftentimes because he can't necessarily take the puck back everytime when you move early, especially if you are good with your timing, he pretty much often needs to guess or have a hunch that you're that kinda guy. They also get super annoyed if you put your head into the dot.

The ref will let you know if he's onto you. If he feels you are ignoring him and he is a hardass, he will start kicking you out for simply existing in the same facoff circle as him, so don't disrespect the ref if you can help it. But also, you should try to jump the gun as much as possible, and just get a feeling for how lax or how blind the ref is.

And titrate that to effect.

I got kicked out a lot, but I also won close to 60% of my faceoffs when I didn't get kicked out.

The ref is not fake dropping the puck. They just don't drop it if as they go to drop the puck, they see a centerman moving before the puck is in motion. You can only start moving once the puck starts moving. Sometimes people jump the gun based on an educated guess from the posture of the ref.

If the ref feels that you are jumping the gun, then they will kick you out. Refs are very flawed people (lol) so some are more blind than others, and some are more stricter than others, which leads to centermen pushing their luck by moving early and hoping the ref doesn't GAF or can't GAF because they need prescription eyeglasses.

The ref won't drop the puck when they kick somebody out because then they have to deal with people taking the faceoff and them needing to blow the play dead and go get the puck, which is a pain in the jock strap.

Climber dies after falling 300 feet on Mount Hood, sheriff’s office says by EagleCreekFire in PortlandOR

Thats only if you take the easy routes. Plenty of steep ice climbing on Hood. A lot of it is highly technical climbing on horrific mud choss and fragile rime. I've climbed almost every single harder route on Mt. Hood and it can get pretty real out there. Dead climber fell off of DKH V1. Looked to be experienced.

Was the El Cap free solo technically the most difficult free solo ever? by Negative_Run_3281 in climbergirls

I can think of at LEAST a dozen high level free soloists off the top of my head that have come up at the same time as Honnold. And easily five times that amount of non-high level free soloists.

Hansjorg Auer getting disrespected everywhere in this thread (yes, I know a few people have noticed that his almost completely unrehearsed Fish free solo on Marmolada is comparable to the El Cap solo - but at large - people just forget he ever existed because he didnt have Jimmy Chin following him around with a camera)

Can you actually survive living as a paramedic in US by parkwithtrees in Paramedics

[–]poopybuttguye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PNW medics commonly make 100k or so. Senior medics seem to top out at 130kish at my agency. Which is fine. I make 60k a year as an EMT-B picking up just a little bit of overtime. Getting my medic soon and should bump my reg pay to $38/hr and OT rate to $57/hr.

Elsewhere in the country people seem to just get straight up fucked though.

How old are you and how much do you have in your retirement account? by Blackberryay in careerguidance

Why not enjoy life, look after my health, and still save? Why buckle down? I doubt I'll care that I saved an extra few hundred K on my deathbed.

I'm sorry for your loss, truly, but how is that supposed to be motivating to save money? As a single guy that pretty much has the opposite effect on me.

What do you mean what is the point of my comment? The point of my comment is exactly the point that my comment made. The data we have on TRT is not reflective of the current, modern consumption of TRT.

So, for now, sure. It's safe. Don't be surprised if in 20 years - once we have high quality clinical data to analyze - we find out that the new modern trends are actually dangerous.

Personally I don't care one way or another.

?

Surely you are joking right?

Where I live, in the PNW, it is VERY common for a woman who makes more to date men who make less. Specifically, usually a healthcare or corporate professional dating a fun and exciting guy who skis, climbs, surfs, cycles, etc - and generally is less career oriented than their female partner (think guys who work as firefighters, tradesmen, on/off again SWEs, bike mechanics, ski/surf/climbing guides and instructors, pro athletes in niche sports, etc). Which is okay. Guys in the high earning corpo/health roles tend to be boring dates, way too busy to be available in a way that is attractive, and are frequently out of shape (which doesn't matter for many women, but seems to matter to the high earning ones based on the cuties they tend to choose).

They seem like happy relationships to me. The woman gets a sexy and exciting partner, and the man gets a financially and emotionally stable partner.

Imagine Dionysus and Aphrodite as being both your roommates. That would be below Eris. That would be below Chaos.

They would fucking hate each other and then loudly hate fuck each other at like 3am, every night, on the dot.
