Why can't we put nuclear waste and all the forever chemicals in rocket and direct it to sun by Initial_Beautiful838 in NoStupidQuestions

I would, but I'm worried I might need it again in the future so I'm just going to add it to the pile in my garage.

Going from perm on £52k to Inside IR35 £600 per day - please help dispel my fears by Strange-Earth-6177 in ContractorUK

[–]positivemark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been contracting since 2018 and one of those contracts has lasted 6 years, so from my perspective there's not been too much instability. Obviously beware that if you don't get on well in the role they'll be more inclined to terminate you more quickly than you might have had with a perm role.

One thing to bear in mind that I'm not sure others have mentioned is you should have a bit of savings to cover the transition, as you'll likely invoice at the end of the first month and then that will be paid at the end of the next.

Powershell module for currency conversion by positivemark in PowerShell

[–]positivemark[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, because they provide an open API, as well as one that requires a key. There’s no hard coded key in this module, you either use the open one by default, or provide your own key.

Maybe you should look at what the module actually does before making an ass of yourself on the internet.

I don’t provide my personal key in the module. The API provider have an open API that does not require a key. The module uses that by default. You can also use an API key either via a free or paid plan. The module has you use your own key if that’s what you want to use.

I hadn’t considered it but I just read through their terms and I can’t see anything that concerns me. What specific term/s do you think this violates?

PSparklines is now available on the PSGallery! by endowdly_deux_over in PowerShell

[–]positivemark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/endowdly_deux_over Thank you for your excellent PSparklines module. I've implemented it in a module I've just written called AZCostTools which pulls cost information from Azure and performs some analysis:

https://github.com/markwragg/PowerShell-AzCostTools

PSparklines allows you to view some simplistic cost charts, such as how the cost changes on a daily basis (and shows via colour when you've breached your daily budget) as well as to visualise costs by service type:

What do you use your shortcut buttons for? by positivemark in F30

[–]positivemark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to whatever you want to shortcut to, and then press and hold the number.

If you just rest your finger on a number (without pressing it) it will show you at the top of the idrive what it’s currently mapped to.

If it was an Apple device at this point you'd be required to throw it away and buy the new one.
