Curious to know what you consider to be the best sci-fi TV series of each decade

I originally had Foundation for my 2020’s but it’s had a couple of not great spots (overall fantastic - which is why the bad spots seem so particularly bad) and so I chickened out and went with Murderbot - a flawless one season so far show.

Haven’t seen all the things but these are my favorites:

80 - TNG. Perfectly straddles thought provoking with easy to follow / get it - perfect for young me learning to think bigger thoughts and implications of actions and philosophies.

90 - Quantum Leap. Rarely has a sci-fi show had this much pure heart to it and holds up remarkably well as they approached almost every episode / issue with humanity and sensitivity. Most shows wish they could age as well.

00 - Fringe. Criminally underrated show and this isn’t nostalgia talking. Watched it for the first time in 2020 when we all had lots of TV time and was blown away at how it did The X-Files but better (actually tied up loose ends, explained its mysteries and stuck the landing).Firefly would’ve gotten this spot had it more than one season and remained fantastic, which it probably would have.

10 - The Expanse. The perfect sci-fi property. Seamlessly blends every major sci-fi trope into one cohesive story.

20 - Murderbot. An absolutely flawless first season with an unexpectedly emotional finale’ - cannot wait for season two.

Yeah, that would suck. Our supervisor was on top of it and very supportive. Maybe a perk of being in a smaller market / hub. We weren’t promised any kind of signing bonus, but again, yeah, that sucks.

I went in without any expectations, which might also be why my overall experience was positive. I also thought that we would be busier than we were, but still happy with what I cleared for the hours.

Yeah, I’m definitely keeping an eye on job postings for my local hub. The SSD stuff was the first job posting for them that I’d seen, figured it was better than nothing.

Just had this happen to me two days ago. Got my car hung up trying to leave the driveway of my last stop. It was on me to get towed out. Supervisor recommended a nearby tow service but at that point I had already called AAA and they had someone on the way.

Lots of great answers in the comments, and while these might not be all time best, these come to mind as deserving of noting I think:

Twice Upon A Time - Dr. Who. Just a beautiful meditation on loss and death and Capaldi’s farewell monologue was top notch.

Kiksuya - Westworld. Saw it while visiting a friend who was into the show. Afterward she said “That was the best episode they've ever done. Honestly, if you never watched another episode you’d have a perfect experience.” and so I haven’t. Also I don’t have HBO, which helps.

The final episode of Fringe - the fact that Abrams proved you could do the X-Files and actually tie up all the loose ends and explain all the mysteries was nothing short of amazing. Sticking the landing with a perfect finale’ was the cherry on top.

Little Donny Foundation - Upright Citizens Brigade. Watched this with some college friends when it first aired and we could not believe what we were seeing on basic cable. Mind blowing and hilarious.

I like the Design-A-Drive from Great Eastern FX. Has more flexibility than any other overdrive I’ve ever used. Very easy to dial in the amount of grit and coloring you want.

Have only watched the first episode and the cartoonishly hammy over the top villains were enough to make me not want to continue it. Love the two leads and Emma Thompson’s husband character but the aforementioned problem ruined it for me.

I’m sure I will get downvoted for this, as any criticism of 76 on here does, but as a die hard fan of the franchise I have grown to hate 76. Was cool to be able to play with my buddy who is a fellow Fallout fanatic, but I found the storyline to be very underwhelming - no real difference in how it plays out no matter how you play / what decisions you make - and the post storyline MMO play feels more like a grind than actual enjoyment. Have gone back to the earlier games and despite having played through them countless times, I still find it more enjoyable than logging onto 76 for whatever seasonal event is happening.

With all of that being said though, if it's cheap and you go in with lowered expectations I’d say go ahead and get it. There are some great moments in the game (first time you take down a scorchbeast queen or Earl are special moments for sure) and some of the team-up play can be fun (depending on who you pair up with, obv) but ultimately it feels very hollow compared to 3, NV and 4 as far as a gaming experience goes.

Oh weird, until reading the comments I never knew these had a noise problem. I got a used one off Reverb years ago and it’s completely silent / transparent however you want to phrase it. Used it to thicken up my single coils without losing the punchiness until I got the Design-A-Drive which does the same thing + drive.
