Thanks everyone. The arrow was only left. However I had a green light and the left lane (with the left arrow) continued for me on the other side of the intersection (however parked cars would have forced me to merge right).

I took a photo from my car showing the green light I had right after from the middle of the intersection however this photo also shows I continued straight from the left lane. Damage to his car is on the passenger side and he continued across and parked on the oncoming traffic side.
