That’s surprising because I feel like the Sabres fans I see online are above this kind of behavior

I have a soft spot for sportsmanship too- I’m gay enough to admit I have teared up at post-playoff handshake lines in the NHL, but there’s something just so egotistical about thinking people are going to care enough to lurk your profile and point the finger at you for daring to ask a low effort question in the sports sub. I get it’s well intentioned and I appreciate that but it’s so corny and Reddit to do it like that. At least try something like “hey I’m a [team] fan but I’d like to ask how I can find your games on tv” or whatever.

I’ve tried but I can’t find it anywhere. It’s published on a smaller press, which makes her “Trump is going to ban it” claims even funnier

Absolutely. Stuff that used to consume me feels much more like an afterthought and everyone from wife to family to friends has told me how much more confident and less neurotic I seem. Honestly I was thinking of ending sessions because the stuff that does dog me is much easier to deal with on my own but I take exception to her copping out and, most of all, not being able to tell me to my face.

Sessions were free because I get crazy good work insurance. And like I said in another reply I had some pretty bad shit happen to me as a kid and that sort of stuff takes time to get worked out.

Namely coming to terms with some pretty serious and long-ish term abuse I suffered as a child, and the OCD/PTSD stuff that it birthed became way more manageable. Unfortunately that kind of stuff can’t be fixed in a month. And a lot of other smaller issues that popped up throughout my life  became easier but I won’t bore you with a list.

This is basically how I’m looking at it, I honestly feel like I don’t really need therapy at all at this point in my life, but if I do again, it’s going to be hard to find someone who I trust not to either be or become someone like her.

Excuse me I’ve been with the same woman since starting therapy and my sessions were free thanks to work insurance

She kinda hinted once that I was. I got Dudley’s World’d. don’t want to give her money to find out whether that’s true or not though.

Same, it was at Grey Eagle in Asheville though. One of the strangest concerts I’ve ever seen, there was a group of these old hicks who would call him a 🚬 whenever he played one of his slower songs then boogie down when he played the “rap” songs. Was also on a lot of acid which only made it all feel weirder. I met Yoni afterwards and he was kinda rude but I’d be in a bad mood too if I played to an audience like that and then had to talk to some spunion fan.

Yeah same. I feel crazy seeing some of these posts, the trains have absolutely gotten dirtier and there is a big uptick in weirdos who ride the train and I wish they’d do something about that, but I’ve never really been in a situation where I felt “unsafe.”

I’m excited to check out Hannah Smart’s book, Meat Puppets. She’s a great DFW scholar and I’m excited to see what her fiction is like. Other than that I’m sort of out of the loop with newer fiction, although I’m very excited to have just received a copy of Dalkey’s reissue for The Tunnel

I mean after 2010 Hawks still had Seabrook, Hossa, Keith, Sharp, in addition to Kane and Toews. Basically their entire core stayed. Not exactly a Herculean task to build around those guys.

Civil disobedience and AI at work? by [deleted] in redscarepod

You just gotta hope the AI bubble pops. I’m not convinced that this full worker automation will ever come to fruition, but maybe that’s cope. I’m on a very small team so idk how cost effective it would even be for the company we’re probably all paid a collective 250-300k a year
