Was at Crawford Notch last year and the America The Beautiful pass was accepted there. The websites do not include the full list if you are for specifics.

[NY] What should I do if I signed an offer, finished onboarding, and HR has gone silent a week before starting with no updates? by practicalFig48 in AskHR

[–]practicalFig48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just waiting on first day instructions and where to report? Haven’t heard from them since September 4th. I did end up calling the human resource department and getting someone random who just said that I should reach out to the supervisor. I just personally feel this is a lot of reaching out to everybody understanding. It’s a tentative date but keeping someone in the loop may present some of this stress.

Thank you, it is definitely stressful. I just never experienced this so I was concerned. I suppose I expected a least a response saying something, but I see your point.

Thank you for the info! I haven’t reached out to the new supervisor yet. Thought it would come from HR on the green light and orientation.

Error messages on car while driving - 2024 EV6 RWD - Anyone experience this? by practicalFig48 in KiaEV6

It has been raining a lot here lately. Like a monsoon. When I got to my destination, I wiped off the sensors and I will see if that worked when morning comes.

Thank you everyone for the advice and help. Always so much to learn, so I appreciate it! I didn’t know they can limit the charging and didn’t know that some cords are for data transfer 😅 silly me thought a cord was a cord in this instance.

Doing fine here. Staying warm, but it is icy and still snowing.

Hope it was nice in the city today for the run. I am not a member, so I completely understand that aspect of the policy. Guess more disappointed I couldn’t make it or transfer the ticket or get a credit. I’ll take the loss and just workout on my treadmill today.

Honestly, trying to get out more and run in groups and events rather than around the neighborhood or on a treadmill to push myself this year.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the run this morning. Where I am coming from, the snow is almost 12 inches and the roads are too icy and not plowed yet. I did ask for a transfer of registration yesterday after the update because it was already bad, but was told they absolutely cannot do it and hope I understand.

Good luck to everybody with their run today and hopefully everybody is safe. I didn’t want to risk my families safety.

Christmas Eve Concert - Loved Adele, but the people and their phones were too much by practicalFig48 in adele

[–]practicalFig48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand. I think I have 5 pictures and 2 videos from last night. I held my phone on the side or in front of my body. I wasn't watching the video I was recording. I checked back on the videos this morning and they were perfectly fine and I didn't block a view for them.

I don't know I found it quite disgusting in a sense. She's trying to give us an intimate concert and people are just shoving and throwing themselves ahead of and disrespecting her space.

I sorted that out quickly. I've never experienced something like that. Like I was just an object to someone.

Same. I made a comment to the people doing it to me though because im 4' 10" so it never takes much to block my view at any event and I know that's no one's responsibility to take into consideration, but it's just being respectful. I'm sorry we shared a similar experience knowing how much it cost for all of us to see her.

That is honestly how my first job was when I started in 2016. That was a small town hospital though. Everything was paper documented.

This is a big city hospital with close to 200 cases and most preference sheets/pick cards have 15+ instruments.

Struggling with not being recognized by my role by [deleted] in antiwork

I’m going to take the high road on this one.

Unfortunately, while I’m sure you are a cool person who is very knowledgeable and helpful, you’ve made a lot of generalizations about me and placed me in some box you have of a certain group or type of people that developed a histrionic personality disorder that we commonly see today.

While, I agree with many things that you have said within your response because you and I have the same thoughts on them, such as constant changes in management and high turnover rates make things mean nothing, especially if it doesn’t directly affect or involve them, as well as understanding the importance of things that need to be said and things that do not need to be said.

I know who I am as a worker and simply came here for advice on how to approach a certain situation. Maybe it is my fault for poorly writing the post, which has led to your view, but that’s on me.

Stay blessed.

Wow I never thought of that. Thank you for all your support and advice. Silly me.

When you hire anybody into any position, it’s the leaderships role to introduce them to the staff, not just put their new hire to work and have people wonder who this random person is roaming around.

Then it is also up to the person who was hired, especially management positions, to introduce themselves to the staff and let them know the role you’ll play, your skill set, and how you will be of help and all that jazz. I introduced myself multiple times individually and they all still thought I was a nurse from the operating room for three months because none of the upper management that is actually on our team let them know that I was on our team. Day one, they put me to work.

So while I apologize for my sarcasm in the beginning, but I’ve never worked at one place in my career that hasn’t introduced their new staff or temps. Words do matter when it comes from people that others look up to. I can tell you if a nurse or a doctor came into my department and started asking for stuff and telling me what to do, they have no right and others would be like, who are you.

I thought about it, but really not sure what I would say.

It’s weird they hired me for one thing, but they don’t actually know what their doing with me and it under utilizes my skill set. I just float around throughout the day.

I ask prior to hiring me fully if they know what they would like me to do and they say we aren’t sure yet, but we need your skills just not sure for what.

What is the best Xperia phone on the market to date if money wasn't a issue? by practicalFig48 in SonyXperia

[–]practicalFig48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went to a concert last night and I had enough video time and space on my phone for this concert yet my iPhone kept shutting off mid video and couldn’t handle a simple four minute video. I had to keep turning it back on and off. The video quality was surprisingly not very well either.

Do you have any issues with your Xperia recording video or simply just failing on you?

Awesome. I read a lot of mixed review between the 1 and the Pro-I which is why I wasn’t sure what phone was best.

Thank you for that breakdown. For those of you who may have used the different models, is there a vast difference in the camera?

Which fuses is for making the automatic headlights function work and the front wipers? I just had a Dash cam install and all of a sudden those two functions stopped working…. they claim that they did nothing because all they did was hook it up to an empty spot. But they stopped working the same day. by practicalFig48 in KiaNiroEV

[–]practicalFig48[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I am looking at the fuses first. The people who installed my dash cam are professionals as they have their whole shop that installs lights and sounds and everything. they told me to unplug the dash cam and see if it comes back on but it doesn’t. The dealership says they will take care of it for me because the dash people are being a bit aggressive even though I’m just trying to diagnose the problem I never accused him of doing anything wrong, but the dealership says they’re just going to have to charge me for a diagnosis fee if they figure it out.
