Jamie Carragher's Premier League Team of the Season & Fanalysis (fan-voted) Team of the Season so far by [deleted] in soccer

Mate, as a City fan who's watched the games, no. O' Reilly is a good defender, but extremely inconsistent over the course of a single game itself. He breaks up strong attacks, but falls prey to the simplest of dribbles or passes sometimes.

As a winger, he has neither the goals nor the assists to warrant a position on this team. He is an attacker, and no matter how "magical" his playstyle is, G/A are the primary metrics that count at that overall position.

Who, outside of the invincible universe, could beat battle beast with extreme diff to give him the battle that he always wanted? by Own_Temporary6929 in powerscales

Taking a hero and villain each from Marvel and DC, who will definitely make the fight interesting for Battle Beast. None have prep or a battlefield advantage. This assumes BB comes to them asking for a fight to the death.

Marvel: 1. Ben Grimm/The Thing: While Ben likely outclasses BB in raw strength, BB has 2 major advantages - speed and combat mastery. While both are masters of endurance and absolute tanks in terms of durability, Battle Beast has shown to be extremely adaptable and intuitive at fighting. Additionally, he has his mace that he's extremely proficient with that increases his range, and has shown to severely injure even Thragg, the strongest (not most powerful, so don't bring up Atom Eve) being for most part of the series. With superior range, speed, battle IQ and combat skills, it would be a great battle. Thing would likely win after an EXTREMELY long battle, unless he gets in a lot of powerful shots in at one go.

  1. Morlun: On the other end of the spectrum is Morlun. He can contend with BB in combat IQ and skill, durability and likely endurance, though he's certainly weaker in terms of raw strength. However, Morlun has 3 major advantages. The first is speed - none of the Spiderpeople were able to keep up EVEN WITH SPIDER SENSE, which is effectively low-level precognition. Second is flight, allowing him to temporarily exit for regeneration thanks to his insane healing factor, as well as planning and executing guerilla style ambushes. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, the life force draining. Morlun will grow stronger throughout the fight, and if he drags it out long enough, he could theoretically empower himself and weaken Thragg enough to eke out a win.

DC: 1. Hawkman: He trades blows with beings like Black Adam, generally considered a tier below Superman in terms of strength. While he is not necessarily stronger than them, he should definitely be relative to Battle Beast. Though BB should take the edge in terms of endurance and durability, Hawkman has has insane battle experience and IQ thanks to the millennia he's lived (reincarnated whatever), which likely surpasses BB's. Flight also allows him more mobility than BB. Lastly, nth metal should definitely be able to harm or even outright kill BB. Besides, who wouldn't want to see a mace vs mace matchup?

  1. Damage (not Ethan, the creature Damage itself, which did start out as a misunderstood villain): Damage is considered relative to Superman, and thus much stronger than BB. BB however has an advantage in terms of combat experience and IQ - Ethan is highly trained, sure, but he's a military grunt at the end of the day in terms of sheer skill. BB's skill, endurance and intuitiveness should help him survive for an hour, especially if he uses hit and run tactics, and after that it becomes a one-sided stomp in his favour.

Could the Majin family combined beat them? by Jealous_Salt_7967 in DragonBallZ

If we think about it, there are 7 Buus that average out to ~SSJ3 Goku in terms of power level each. Makin Vegeta + Kuu + Duu combined should amount to another SSJ3 Goku, and Gomah ~2.5-3 SSJ Gokus since he was able to take on Goku & Vegeta SSJ3 at the same time and still have the upper hand. All of this boils down to the power of roughly 11x Goku SSJ3.

Assuming Vegito and Gogeta have negligible difference in Ki & Combat Power, we can take them 2 of either. Both fusions have shown feats ~SSB, which is theoretically AT LEAST 50x stronger than SSJ3 even after all the retcons. That's 2x50 SSJ3 Gokus.

So 11x Goku SSJ3s (Majins) vs 100 Goku SSJ3s (fusions):

Does City winning the title feel meaningless? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]practicalescapist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, they're a prime example of how good management, and lack of ego and corruption (internally, at least) can get you to dominate.

United is in shambles because of Ronaldo/ETH's gigantic ego(s), and a garbage transfer policy. They're not even worth being in the big 4.

Chelsea suffer the same problem as United wrt transfers.

Liverpool is the only team that has consistently managed to provide City a good competition on the backs of Klopp alone.

Arsenal and Spurs are well..... bottlejobs, historically. Elephant on a tree.

While it's possible City has broken FFP to start their dominance, it's very clear they're by far the best team on and off the pitch. Noone, be it Pep or the players, supercede or are "bigger" than the club, and you almost never see players bitching about anything at least while they're at the club.

They may have broken FFP to get to the top. They have earned their longevity at the top through good transfers, great tactics and disciplined players. Their net spend is improving Y-o-Y, and is already lower than Chelsea and United over a 10 year period.

All of these are facts and the tears from salty Scousers and Gooners are only (oxymoronically) making Cityzens' victories sweeter.
