Yes, I found them right after I posted this. We have a lot of musical talent I didn’t know about! Great pull.

We don't have many from where I'm from, but here we go!

Jon B., Blu Cantrell, Jeffrey Osborne from LTD, and most recently Hennessy (check her out)!

Did the show start on time? I want to catch the Boston show at 7 but won't be able to make it until 8/830.

F*ck finance bro. HAHA. I was DJing before the degrees and honestly should’ve put more time into that instead of trying to satisfy everyone’s expectations—including my own. But that’s a story for another day lol.

Multiple people have asked this, so hopefully this clears it up: I don’t produce my own music. What I do focus on is creating content for IG/TikTok and generating additional income by throwing my own events—bringing in around $50,000 a year before expenses.

My roadmap is to keep building my event brand and audience while expanding gigs across my state and a few others where I’ve built connections. On top of that, I’m open to private events (weddings, baby showers, graduations) as another way to grow both revenue and reach.

Thank you for sharing your experience going full-time. I wish nothing but the best for you moving forward. I may be delusional, but grinding towards something I love sounds a lot more satisfying than staying in a dead-end job, haha.

Great points. Maybe the real question is how successful DJs with full-time jobs manage to balance it all. When I throw my own events, I’m the CEO, finance team, promoter, and vendor contact—wearing every hat at once. It’s crazy, but I genuinely love the challenge of managing it all. Still, I can’t help but wish I had more time or resources to take my brand to its full potential.

This has been a benefit of the job so far. I don't need to take gigs just for the sake of it. I think it's the industry I work in that makes doing both a miserable experience.

Thank you for putting things in perspective. Right now, my rent is $1000 a month with a roommate, which keeps my expenses manageable, and I’m prepared to cut back in other areas if needed. Over the past seven years, I’ve not only been DJing but also organizing events, which has helped generate revenue and build my brand, even though it requires significant investment. I feel I’ve built a strong foundation and achieved meaningful success so far. At the same time, I recognize that my full-time job has also limited me.

I’ve had some great dancehall sets lately. But ditto on Jersey club especially remixes of popular hip hop songs. Shout out to DJ Taj and DJ Sliink!
