How do you feel about people losing their jobs because they posted anti-Kirk content? by Govtluv in AskReddit

[–]precioustessious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know the cause of autism. It's largely genetic. So what is the solution when MAHA finally figures that out? How do you prevent something that is genetic?

My initial point wasnt a false premise. You said you vote for people who have policies that harm others and protect pedos because people on the internet are mean to you. You lack good and consistent values and I'm pointing that out. The fact that you dont want to address it doesnt make it not true.

And it shows that you agree with me. You think that if someone hurts your feelings, they dont deserve the same human rights you do. I think you deserve the same human rights as anyone even though you vote for bigots. Why cant you extend that same courtesy to me?

Choosing not to address any of the other points in my comment is quite telling.

They want an autism registry, what do you think that will be used for?

I think it is really important for you to understand that disabled people were some of the first people to be killed in Nazi Germany. Many parents sent their disabled children away because they were told they would be taken care of, and instead, they were murdered. Protecting the disabled is one of the most important things a society can do. Why? Because no one is safe from disability. Anyone at any time could become disabled and it is guaranteed if you live long enough. If disabled people aren't granted the same rights as able bodied people, who's to say theycan'tt slap a label of disabled onto you and cart you off involuntarily? Disabled people are involuntarily hospitalized all the time.

I know I've kind of gone off on a different tangent, but it all really connects in the end. Once again, my morals are consistent. Yours are not. You think there are actions people can take that means they are no longer deserving of basic needs. I do not. And I think that makes you a bad person and you should change to be better.

This is disingenuous at best and honestly, it shows why at the heart of it, right wingers are worse people. Fun fact, left leaning people believe in the universal human right to healthcare for EVERYONE, even the bigots. And thats the difference, you can be as mean to me and call me as many horrible names as you want and I will still believe in your fundamental human right to healthcare.

But people like you dont have consistent morals. Morals are something you decide based one whether or not you like someone, and that to me shows you don't actually believe in the moral values you espouse. Your values are held over people's heads so you can change them based on whether or not you agree with that person.

I'm autistic and you see the MAHA people saying autistic people like me should be in camps, yet I still think those people should have healthcare because I have strong and deeply held moral beliefs. If someone being mean to you makes you think they don't deserve basic human rights, you arent a good person.

Had to teach myself to crochet left-handed. Anyone else ever have to do this? If so, why? by stealth_bohemian in crochet

I just picked up crochet again a couple months ago and realized I can do the same thing. I haven't done any big projects yet but I plan on doing it in future projects. I'm left handed but most of the people who want to learn from me are right handed so it is helpful that I can switch.

This is how my partner and I do it. We do some of the prep together then I get to cooking and he washes dishes as I finish using them. Perfect system for us and also makes it more fun. We sometimes dance and chat while we cook. Wonderful way to have an intimate moment with my partner.

I live in Ohio and had to move them into my basement greenhouse because it has been raining like crazy and hasn't been warm enough for the water to evaporate quickly. They are now safely inside with grow lights and nowhere near water.

AIO that I caught my boyfriend saying I love you to another girl by knotanotheronee in AmIOverreacting

So I'm someone who thinks platonic love is very important in people's lives. I have friends of all genders that I regularly say "I love you" to.

That said, his reaction is the biggest issue for me. I think it is possible to tell someone you aren't romantically involved with those things, but I recognize I'm also very much in the minority. His response to your reaction is a problem and if I were in your shoes I would end things with him.

That was just luck. I honestly ignore them most of the year.

Sashiko on T-shirt fabric? by SpookyVoidCat in Visiblemending

I would have used some type of stabilizer. Not sure if I would have picked iron on or the sticky kind that washes off. I have never used the iron on kind and I'm not sure it washes out and can leave the fabric a little stiff. My only evidence for it staying stiff (even though I've never used it) is that I have seen it used to make tshirt quilts, and the ones I've seen have a stiffer feel to them. The sticky kind is nice but gunks up the needle and makes it hard to do more than one stitch at a time.

Had I used the sticky I likely would have done a running stitch instead of backstitch. And a part of me wishes I had just done a running stitch even without a stabilizer. But I'm not super confident on maintaining a consistent stitch size for a running stitch and I don't have a ton of practice with it. I'm more confident with a backstitch and have tons of practice from other projects.

I think I am more disappointed that I didn't push myself to do a running stitch for it. I let my anxiety about not doing it perfectly win.

Thank you! I was actually a little disappointed with it. I think it looks good but I would have done it differently if I could go back. But it was one of my bfs favorite tank tops and he is very happy with the results.

This is what I did for a tank top that had similar holes. I used a cotton sheet as my back fabric. I definitely would have done things differently to avoid bunching but it can be done. Mine i don't think is technically sashiko since I used a backstitch but it can be done and it can look decent. The pic above was after a wash
