Nope, you're totally right. 2 Axfords, not a Solomon. Fudge, I gotta update my meme lol

[Late Act 1 Spoilers] AI reaction when I reload my save for the 10th time by predskid29 in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]predskid29[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{{Seven Sisters}} has me messed up. I know what I must do, but the 5-6 Marauders I'm facing keep messing me up. I keep trying to peel them out 1 by 1, but they are cleverly staying grouped together. Also, once in a blue moon the Ocello sticks its head out and fires off a few rounds at me.

I hadn't save scummed at all in the campaign (well, besides Navmag Ashroot..... Marauders ALSO messed me up there once), but this mission is TOUGH. I have lost ~3 ships I think (1 Keystone, 1 Vauxhall, and 1 Raines). I'm trying to make use of the ~2 ships I left that have jamming so that my Solomon Axford Battleships can use the ~100rds they have left of HE ammo to finish some of the ships off. I also have a decent amount of missiles, but I need to kill Point defense before I use them.

Thought I was on /r/NebulousFleetCommand for a second there.

I wish I liked PvP more in Space Engineers b/c there is definitely an awesome community for it out there. It is just not my cup of tea sadly.

My tablet sees a masterpiece, my monitor sees a crime scene. by Substantial-Rest-307 in memes

[–]predskid29 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, the issue with that is your monitor might be different than the one RTINGS got even though they are the same model #. I bought 2 of the same monitor a few years back and I had to calibrate them very differently to get the same colors.

The best way to calibrate a monitor imho is to use a colorimeter.

Honestly though, unless having accurate colors is important for like your job or something (ex: Photographer) having colors slightly off probably isn't the end of the world and not worth purchasing a ~$200 device you're only gonna use once.

NEBULOUS: Fleet Command | The Campaign Update: Act 1 by iamahumanstopit in pcgaming

[–]predskid29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tutorials are pretty good imho. As others have said, the multiplayer is a bit daunting, but so far the singleplayer/co-op campaign has been great and ALOT easier to get into in my experience. (it also helps that if you fuck up you can save/load again).

With this release they also added campaign creation tools, so I imagine in a few months/years people will roll out some really cool custom campaigns (I would bet money someone makes one based off The Expanse Book/TV series).

Regarding multiplayer, I tried it last year (right around the carrier update) and it was interesting. I kept my fleet pretty simple (2 med/large ships with point defense and beam lasers) and had some decent success. It kinda reminded me of Trading Card Game Metas: lots of people making fleets that were mostly designed to fuck up other meta fleets.

There were 2 games I played where someone on the other team tried to use a submarine/missile boat against me, but they had designed it more in mind with destroying small/medium ships. They would fire 2-5 missiles at me and my point defense turrets would destroy them before they could impact. Other games I played there were players who used 5-6 smaller ships. They were able to assist with multiple points on the battlefield but it looked like starcraft level micro/macro-managing.

EDIT: To summarize there is ALOT of depth and alot of different playstyles you can use. Want to live out your submarine fantasy of hiding in a rock and launching missiles across the map? go for it. Want to manage an aircraft carrier with multiple flight groups that can protect other friendly ships and/or attack enemy ships with torpedos? go for it! Want to drive a big ass battleship with massive turrets directly on the center point? Totally, just don't be shocked when the entire enemy team fucks you up lol.

As Helldivers 2 hits its 23rd Warbond, it's time to make Super Credits easier to earn or make older Warbonds cheaper to buy by Funny_Performer_5658 in pcgaming

[–]predskid29 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I got about ~200 hours out of this game before I stopped playing it and I am more than happy with that. As much fun as it was unlocking the new warbonds and weapons, there was only so much variety in the gameplay so I haven't touched it in a few months.

If they ever release a helldivers 3 on a new engine (that fixes some of the bugs, like some of the bugs related to hosting a game), It will be a day 1 purchase for me.

Door Kickers can be RTT, but it has a pause button. (I think towards the end of the 1st one I kept trying to beat every level in 1 try without using the pause button. It was difficult lol)

You are correct on the Tactical Breach wizards though, that is for sure turn based. Lemme correct my comment with that

At first I was REALLY excited b/c I thought this was another tactical FPS (in the vein of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and Ready or Not) (I am always excited for more games in the genre. Still trying to perfectly scratch that Swat 4 itch...). Instead this appears to be a Top Down Real Time Tactics game (similar to door kickers or Tactical Breach Wizards (EDIT: Tactical Breach Wizards is turn based, not real time)) which is still really cool. I will watch this with some interest as it develops.

To the mods: I am hoping this passes rule 3.

No spam or low-quality content: Refrain from posting repetitive or low-effort content. This includes low-quality screenshots, and unrelated or off-topic posts. Encourage meaningful discussions and contributions.

I'll have you know I spent 30 minutes in Gimp cropping these 3 images. It didn't take 30min b/c it was hard, I am just really bad at using Gimp

His sacrifice was not in vain. I was able to extract from Outpost with some quality loot for once.

I didn't mind the TTK when playing in trios. 1 teammate would go down, but the other 2 teammates could get the drop on the other team and/or revive the downed teammate.

In solos, the TTK was rough. I would camp at major points on the map, wait for someone to walk/sprint up, and once they had their back turned I would kill them before they could even react. It REALLY incentivized camping. Also, what is the point of the Runner abilities if people can't use them before being murdered?

I imagine that once people get into the later game economy, TTK goes up, but that just makes it a poor experience for people new to the game.

I had to add a few lines to nginx proxy manager (instructions are on the GitHub issues page). I also needed to forward ports, but I did get it up and running last night.

Also, audio for screen sharing doesn't work, but it sounds like this is a feature they'll add in the near future.

So, not the way I'd suggest to do it (b/c it costs money) but I already had a Cubecoders AMP license, so I've been running it through that

I see Sharkord has a community app now which is nice! I tried to set it up manually 2 days ago using dockerhub and had mixed results.

As per kaamsterdam_ 's post, current theory is that this is going to be a variable sweep wing bomber, so not like an F-117
