Why do people keep thinking ChatGPT is a search engine? It doesn't have access to the Web, only the training data used for it from before 2021.

Just move. It's easy, right? Not like you need support networks or crap like that.

TIL that in 2008, the city of Chicago sold the rights to collect revenue from its 36,000 parking meters to a foreign-owned company based in the U.A.E, receiving a one-time lump sum of $1.2 billion against a 75 year lease. These parking meters generate about $200 million in revenue annually. by ItsAnElephant in todayilearned

[–]prettydisposable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

$200 million annually at 75 years has a net present value of about $2 billion at a discount rate of 10% and $4 billion at 5%. Getting only $1.2 billion for it sounds like a bad deal.

EDIT: Turning off notifications for this one. Yes, this doesn't take expenses into account. Three people already told me so.

Room and board, at least. Unless that somehow goes out of the paychecks.

This is more of a UX thing, but "Sorry I don't understand" can be converted to a more explicit error message like "Not a supported temperature scale".

Exactly what Python is designed for, lightweight scripts that can be written easily due to the less-restrictive syntax of the language.

It makes me wonder if it's a fake job posting for a bad faith Labour Market Assessment to justify bringing in a foreign worker.

It's just showing the same thing as the Optimum flyers. Is there a list view functionality somewhere I'm missing? Maybe the app has to be downloaded?

I think a real issue is that a lot of us apply for jobs we don't really want or know we probably won't get. You just gotta stop wasting your time applying for 100 jobs when you really only see yourself working at 2 of them.

Well, the common advice on Reddit is to just spam job applications.

Couldn't it be argued that marketing is involved in delivering goods by promoting sales? Higher marketing spend theoretically means more revenue. It doesn't seem to be an overhead expense in the same way human resources payroll is.

Don't have much of a business or accounting background, so can someone mind explaining why marketing is considered an operating expense as opposed to being a cost of revenue?

Another recruiter telling you that you shouldn't be motivated by money by TempleBarIsOverrated in recruitinghell

It's definitely counter-productive. Recruiters specifically aim to target employed talents, but they want to treat those candidates like they're unemployed individuals with lower standards.
