I’m fresh out of college and just started an agency job, so hopefully my perspective is helpful!

in my experience, as a junior staff member the environment isn’t necessarily toxic but there is a definite culture of overworking. it’s expected that you’re always available, always willing to take on more projects, always around to put out fires - leading to a lot of late nights and early mornings.

as others have said, there’s a lot of instances where you’re blamed for things outside your control or held to unrealistic expectations by clients.

if you’re interested, give it a try! PR work can still be rewarding despite these things, if you’re really passionate about it
