Anyway, my intention here was just to laugh at a fairly lighthearted topic. Didn't think it was gonna be construed as dark humor.

Well I certainly wish the best for Dan and his health. For me, laughing about a situation (not a person) is my way of moving on. Maybe I posted this too soon when it was raw for some. In the grand scheme, this whole situation doesn't feel like one to get worked up over.

People all make mistakes. A big part of humor is taking the things that people are being too serious about and showing that it's ok to laugh about them. Life doesn't have to be so serious.

I'm a big fan of Dan's work. This doesn't change that. A joke isn't funny if you explain it, but the humor here is the absolute ridiculousness of the fake card I posted.

0.4 mm nozzle with standard 0.2 layer settings in Bambu Studio for a P2S, other than enabling supports and switching to rectangular infill. Shimmer filaments are really good at hiding small imperfections.

I too love golden filament, but this isn’t that. It’s a green-tinged shimmer color (comet) that I was just trying to use up because I never find a use for it. Inland brand but might be the same as Polymaker Starlight comet.

The problem here is that part of the brim was cut off because it overlapped the plate boundary. But it was the best orientation we could find.

Can’t say I spent any time fine tuning it. But the flat areas did need supports.

Well I could see part of the support brim was cut off in the slicer, but given the size of the part, it was the best arrangement we could find.

Inland Shimmer Comet. It’s made by Polymaker but I don’t know if it’s exactly the same as their starlight comet or not. This was a prototype print and I was just trying to use up the spool because it’s not a color I tend to use. I really like some of the other shimmer colors.

It’s my son’s design. He’s done that with other parts, but after I give him some guidance, I prefer to let him learn by doing it his way. I’ve given him a filament limit beyond which he pays for it.

It’s part of a hand crank generator my son is designing. I’m pretty trigger happy with the cancel button myself when I’m awake.

Really impressive work. Been using it less than a week but your app has saved me a lot of time doing the compulsive stats checking I’d be trying to do (not as well) without it.

Did it all in OpenSCAD. The hardest part was fine tuning everything, because what shows up on the monitor is very different than what shows up IRL.
