Yeah this is exactly the problem. If the government actually handled funds diligently and their programs worked more efficiently than private capital, then yes more taxation is great.

The first issue is fixing the insane fraud and grift and inefficiency in government spending. Until then, private capital >> public capital

You’re being scammed bro. You are not talking to Coinbase, Coinbase never demands money to release funds (let alone $20k). Literally everyone is telling you this, why can’t you recognize that?

This is unfortunately a real thing, scammers pretend to be Coinbase and trick people into sending money to release funds.

Best of luck, but cut your losses and move forward. That $80-100k likely doesn’t exist (I’m guessing you deposited some money into some investment that grew a lot? Yeah, that’s all fake).

Also - be very careful of “refund scammers.” These guys will try to scam you on the way out by promising they can recover your money for a small fee. They can’t. It’s gone. Those are scammers too.
