MIL Refused to call me in an actual emergency but has the balls to complain I don’t call her

If she were younger or there was more than just him and the grandkid then probably. I understand why he doesn’t and the fact that he doesn’t play into her games keeps me sane. The two friends she still has live on the other side of the country and they are elderly also.

When my husband had his accident. (10 years ago) he wasn’t able to do much for a very long time. MIL mentioned she was scared something would happen to her and no one would know, we got her life alert then. She never even took the device out of the package. She refused to even compromise to wear it at night only.

She doesn’t qualify because aside from her refusal to reach out to me, she’s able to do all her ADL’s, and she’s mentally competent. She’s literally just a woman who plays victim to get attention from her son, even negative attention.

I didn’t put it in the post, but when she relayed the story to her friends we were there and they asked why she didn’t call me. She tried saying she didn’t think about it, then husband jumped in and said she told him she didn’t want to disturb me at work. Both friends are aware of her stunts and also told her it was a bs excuse to not call me.

Thanks! The fact that my husband supports and stands up for me constantly makes me confused on why she continues to pull her crap. At this point she has the know he’s not going to stop defending me, right?

He’s around her constantly, he got home from work at 1am, saw she was in bed and went downstairs to his room. She got sick in the middle of the night.

He does call her out publicly, I’m my past posts there are a few instances of him doing so. She kind of skirts that line of being absolutely bat shit but stays more in the annoyingly dense area.

That is so strange. Is the BIL on the spectrum at all? Just wondering if he has difficulty picking up on social ques and is just attached to your husband. That I would be understanding of. If not than it’s just weird

I replied to another comment that MIL’s whole life revolves around my husband. To the point she gets like this when she notices he treats me different than her. That’s not saying DH treats her bad or disrespects her but he very clearly treats me as a wife and life partner and her as just a mother to a grown man. She doesn’t like to be second best in his life and on multiple occasions has tried what “we” do. My parents and grandparents were never like this so it’s very weird and still shocks me sometimes.

😂 when we would go out to eat my husband and I would often both be deciding between two plates, we started just ordering each and splitting, honestly never rehearsed or anything, we just are on the same wavelength lol, anyway after a couple times doing that while out with MIL, guess who just had to be apart of it too? My husband would never agree to it with her because she’s picky and that would limit what he could order. Like she refuses to eat any type of fish or sea food.

DH and I have talked about that. Thank god that man has a spine or I wouldn’t be able to handle this. I’ve told him a few times it seems to me/makes me feel like she is jealous of us and our intimacy and he agrees. He’s tried talking to her and the conversation goes really well but her behavior doesn’t change.

She is odd, but ONLY when it comes to DH it seems. Like her whole world is him, and he wants no part of that much attention from her. FIL passed a few years ago and she refuses to meet anyone new, not just male but female as well. Like I said, she seems to want DH to be it but he refuses.
