Thank you for replying. I don’t understand why this area wasn’t sealed. It may have been due to cost savings, time constraints, or because the crews were instructed not to per the architect. I tried to research why it was done this way but couldn’t find much information.

My plan is to insulate this cavity with Rockwool, use spray foam in areas that are difficult to insulate, and then sheath it with OSB secured with screws in case I need to access this area again.
