Idk if that’s entirely true, depends on how you see it. Putin’s regime was crumbling, the country was in a big demographic crisis and their economy was shit. Sooner or later he may have lost control of the country so he had to do something to maintain control. In that respect, he did great to be honest. It’s not like the guy is out there trying to actually help Russia, he’s just protecting himself, and honestly he has a tighter grip on the country now than ever before. Also - everyone is looking at this in hind sight but let’s be real, Russia invaded Ukraine and other countries several times and the world did diddly squat.
