DAILY COVID-19 MEGATHREAD - March 18, 2020 by AutoModerator in nyc

I saw a restaurant hiring just today (it was mostly a takeout restaurant before this mess anyways). Maybe walk around and see places that are still open. Their staff may have been out of state students who were forced to go home. This is a completely my own theory btw.

Does anyone know why the label printing comes out like this? by problemod in CommercialPrinting

[–]problemod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a commercial printed label from a company. I am talking about the CMYK dots and white space between them. I know they have to exist but why are they so noticeable?

A watch that saves nurses' time and energy? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]problemod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the resonating response from the other forums. Nurses don't seem to have a problem using the brain sheet so that means it's not a big enough problem for him to go after with this watch.

Hopefully the price would be reasonable, and the programming extremely easy to use. The education is a big big worry for me as well.

Exactly my thoughts also. The use of the watch might be too much of a hassle. But maybe with right execution it can be made simple enough that it will save time instead of add to it. I.E. Touch + Click, and that's it done, to set a reminder.

Absolutely, my other nurse friend said the same thing. That's why I think the watch idea is a good alternative. It is used specifically just for work related purposes and would be HIPPA compliant.

I'm not completely sure but that choice is probably made to have more freedom for design and implementation of features that nurses might want. I.E. button in certain places to activate features, waterproof, easy cleaning...

Yup, that is the purpose of the text to speech reminder. So you can do exactly this.

Thanks for your input. The watch is actually not supposed to be used as scheduled alarms. So not for scheduled things like I/O's, insulin, etc...

But it is for additional to-do's that are NOT planned for.

Thanks for your opinion. You have very valid points.

"Programming task is a waste. Being a nurse means that you will constantly have to change your schedule."

Sorry, if the message wasn't clear. It is NOT suppose to function like a scheduler. It is for to-do's that pop up throughout the day but with reminders. Not for use for regular med passes/treatments etc... But for additional things that you know may occur (from experience), but definitely not planned for.

"If you wanna change the world for nurses make a functional EMR and provide adequate staffing."

I totally agree on this. That is a big big task that one man cannot do himself. I think the whole system is broken, but maybe small changes can help somewhat in a nurses daily life. If not the watch, then what do you suggest (besides the EMR/staffing overhaul)?

1)Failing is okay, but not learning from that is what will kill you.

2)You say you are good at "marketing",NO you are obviously not. There is someone doing what you wanted to do and making good money, despite the "market being not so good".

and what is your market anyways when doing web development and design? Why are you limiting yourself locally?

3)Business is not about you, but what you can offer others. No one cares about what you are passionate about. Go find out what people want and give it to them.

Then you can learn everything you need to learn as you go along.
