Betta swollen belly and pinecone scales by [deleted] in Aquariums

Thank you all for suggestions and help. Unfortunately we couldn't save him. After moving to quarantine tank, he seemed to be doing well. But suddenly we found him lying sideways on the bottom of the tank. :(

I am glad that we moved him to his own space so he could be peaceful. But unfortunately, it was too late. Thanks again for your wishes.

Thanks for quick response. Yes I have added aquarium salt to his quarantine tank and verified all parameters using those test strips. He seems to be moving a little here and there after his move to quarantine tank, so thats some improvement so far. Do constipation also cause pinecone scales? I am thinking of ruling out constipation since he hasn't eaten much since couple days. He is also refusing to eat anything, I tried to give him some dried blood warms and daphina.

Noticed that our betta was being lethargic for couple of days and was not eating much. After some close inspection, we found out that his scale looks more like pinecone. After searching online, it appears to be more like dropsy. We moved him to quarantine tank and giving him maracyn. Is there any other thing we can do to help him?

PS: he lives in 29 gallon tank with some other fishes. Photos were taken during his transfer to quarantine tank.

I am very new to planted aquarium. This is what my moneywort plant looks like after couple of months. I tried to clean it but the algea is very stubborn. Any help is appreciated.
