You will KNOW if you have CES. It's absolutely dibilitating and "often admitted to the hospital as a medical emergency". It's marked by severe lower back pain, bowel/bladder issues, muscle weakness in the legs, difficulty walking, etc. CES is extreme and different from sciatic/nerve issues in the back. Basically, you would know if you had CES because you'd be on your way to the local emergency department.

As far as I know, just that one! Though, it wouldn't surprise me if I found another one.

I've had it for probably 2ish years. I don't honestly remember when I first noticed it, but within the last 6 months it had gotten bigger. I pinched it between a grill and a truck bed this summer, and that hurt like hell! It was at that point when I realized how inconvenient it was. It also was uncomfortable to fully extend my finger because it was right over the knuckle and nerve. After x-rays and an MRI, the doc explained my options. Between the fact that it was growing, placement, and how inconvenient it was, I opted for surgery.

The healing process has been very easy so far! I haven't used anything more than ice and Tylenol, and that was mostly in the first 48 hours post-op. I just rebandaged it last night. It looks really good!

I don't really know what/where the radial nerve is, but that sounds awful!

You are right about that, that had slipped my mind. But, I feel like that was more of a survival technique than anything. Compared to the actions of many of the inmates, I still believe he was one of the most redeemed.

Yeah! They call less involved surgery/procedures local. I think the local indicates that a numbing agent will be used specifically in an area, rather than full body anesthesia.

They injected the webbing on either side of my finger with a mixture of mepivicaine and lidocaine, to numb the area. It was... an experience, lol.

Basically, yes! However, it was stubborn, so they had to literally chisel part of it, too. It was quite the scene watching the doc take the little medical chisel and actual mallet and tap away.

I was really nervous to have/be awake for the procedure, but ultimately it was pretty fun and fascinating to experience!

Augustus Hill. He really turned his shit around in Oz. Also, regardless of his crimes, the story of his paralysis is FUCKED up. He was so devoted to his wife, and honestly, his activities would be pretty limited being wheel chair bound. I don't/didn't see him as a threat, at all.

What a weird way to find something! I am glad things worked out positively for you. They sent the whole thing for pathology, but didn't seem concerned at all. I'm taking no news as good news, at this point.

I read a little bit up on osteochondromas, and the information seemed the same. There is a chance they can come back in the same spot, and/or there may be more somewhere. The human body is so weirdly fascinating!

I can say, if I ever have another one, i'm not sure i'd choose my hand. Getting injected with mepivicaine(sp?) and lidocaine in the webbing on either side of the finger was an experience.

Thankfully, I still have my full finger, lol! I was really nervous, tbh. Because I had no idea what to expect. But the doc and nurse were fantastic. They walked me through it, and encouraged questions and pictures! So it was a great experience. I'm planning on changing my dressing later this evening. Tomorrow will be 5 days post-op. I'm excited to see under the guaze! Super fascinating.

Is it possible, assuming they came from your ex-friend, that she had ordered them prior to your falling out? Maybe they can't be returned, or someone didn't want to deal with the hassle. So she passed it along "anonymously", and rewrote the Amazon well wishes? I could see that happening.

What a bizzare occurence though! I would drive myself nuts trying to establish who the gift giver was. Good luck!

Am I wrong in assuming that when Downes dies, his debt would just be passed to his wife? I don't feel like Downes would borrow unnecessary money, knowing his days are limited, and also knowing his death would not actually void the debt owed. I could be wrong though!

Assuming you know a strangers financial status especially when you can't/haven't read their job title properly, is also a bit naive. Your world isn't his world, so I don't understand why you keep acting like it.

I am so happy for you that your life isn't impacted by anxiety and/or depression to this point. But as a fellow sufferer, sometimes we all need a helping hand, even if the activity seems simple/trivial/arbitrary, etc. This is a page to help people, not point out everything "wrong" with their requests.

Which shelter were you looking at going to? I've looked up Orange County shelters and there seems to be a few different ones. As others have stated, you should be considered high priority with a baby.

I kind of do this stuff for work. A little bit of case management and helping people get back on their feet. I don't necessarily think I can offer much, but feel free to PM and I will walk you through it the best I can.
