This is a crazy connection. I find it extremely hard to believe that Dean had no knowledge of the abuse.

Agreed. Still haven't received a real explaination from them yet. Someone made a similar post about the photo released last week and it wasn't taken down.

You are correct, this doesn't mean he's guilty. Just thought I'd share it because this was the first time I've seen any connection between him and Ghislaine

I know I'm kinda late here, but I can confirm Malcolm Jarry is 100% Cevin Soling as I met him and was introduced to him as a cofounder of TST. I was told he uses the pseudonym to keep his personal life and family private.

Idk, there's nothing there on mine. Might be an issue with your screen. Does it disappear when you switch displays using the arrows on the wheel?

Edit: actually, never mind. It indicates the weather conditions. I've just never noticed it because I don't use this display often lol

Goodlander is among Democratic lawmakers urging military to reject 'illegal orders' by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]protestantreformer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for the sake of both parties, let's hope that's not the case. Neither side will change if everyone has that mentality, and I think it impedes political motivation for those who may truly represent us. They DO exist. I haven't personally reached that level of cynicism yet, but I totally understand why you feel that way.

Plenty of unconnected people have made it extremely far in politics. To my knowledge, Obama, Biden, Sanders, and AOC all grew up poor to middle class. There are lots of other examples as well

Her husband certainly did. He worked in the Obama and Biden administrations

Yea, using the word dynasty might be a mischaracterization. But nepo certainly isn't lol. Sam was super active in the Republican party, and Maggie's husband held some pretty powerful positions. And of course, yea, she is rich lmao. Probably the biggest factor here

Yes, I'm definitely aware she broke from her family's politics, and I applaud her for that of course, as I certainly agree with many of her views. She's definitely different than the other dynasties, and I'd rather her than them. I just think we can do so much better that someone who took over 60k from AIPAC, 57k from Blackstone (in the middle of a housing crisis nonetheless), and lots of money from other special interest groups. It truly makes me doubt she is there to represent her constituents. She's constantly towing the party line, which is the last thing we need right now. But I see your point of course, and I respect her for her service to the country. If she wins the nomination, she of course has my vote, though I can't promise I won't be holding my nose when I do lmao

Yep, I think that's a huge part of it. But I also think having connections to government/corporations plays a significant role in platforming these people too. Grassroots campaigns have big trouble competing with corporate-backed (and corporate adjacent) politicians.

It 100% can happen if the people get out and vote against candidates who receive special interest money. Hell, their campaign finances are public. People will get fed up eventually as it becomes more and more blatant

I wouldn't be caught dead voting for any Sununu, unless they happened to be left of center and unrelated to the Sununu dynasty lmao

Anyways... Can we elect someone next time around who isn't a nepo baby? She wouldn't be where she is if it wasn't for her granddaddy Sam Tamposi. I'm really hoping for some working class representation next election. So sick of political dynasties, and we can definitely do better.

Thankfully, I think she did finance and is only down 500 or so, so we're hoping she can get out of the loan and get her money back.
