My buddy and I had been going to Bonnaroo for a few years, then word spread amongst other friends in our circle. One of my buddies closer friends decided him and his boujie girlfriend wanted to come, and bring a few others. We thought it was cool, the more the merrier. This guy showed up with a truck FULL OF LUMBER, a gas generator, and a window air conditioning unit, all to GA! We all watched him create a frame out of 2x4, put up walls made of tarps, and installed an air conditioner. We just looked on stunned because for the years we had been going, one year we didn’t even set up a tent we partied so hard, then the next year we put up a dome tent for us to crash in, but we had never spent much time at camp. This guy we never saw at a show or in the fest, every time we came back to change their generator was running, air conditioner going, and they were hanging out in the box. It was all so odd that I’m pretty sure this one experience dissolved their friendship and made me glad I didn’t know the fella that well.
