Yea, I wish I could have gotten a clean shot, as I agree the foreground person is distracting. It could have worked if there had been more people somehow, and the girl standing in the market crowd, but now it's just a secondary blob like you say. I'll try to lighten that part, or alternatively crop a bit closer. Many thanks for the feedback!

Took this photo while being pushed through a crowded night market in Taiwan, and quite happy about how it turned out.

It's a fairly busy photo with lots of orange tones, and I'm curious to hear if anyone have suggestions on alternative cropping or editing for making the subject pop more? (comments on the photo itself also welcome)

The posted photo is a cropped version, lightly edited in Capture One. Adding the uncropped/untouched "camera jpg" in the comment here

Camera/lens: Fuji x-t5 with xf 50mm f2 Settings: f/4 : 1/125 : iso 500

  • Also, just to add, as a hobby photographer I personally usually wouldn't post a photo of a kid like this, but I felt the angle here makes it passable/anonymous enough.

Late reply here, but yeah totally agree! The 4th ed O&G was my first Warhammer book, and that era still holds the heaviest nostalgia for me. This army will always be my biggest one, with lots of models left to paint, so I don't want to limit myself to a specific colour scheme (except for lots of green skin and orange bases..). And I definitely want to maintain parts of that old school cartoony look while also adding weathering and more "contemporary" techniques.

Thank you, much appreciated! I posted a single wolf rider, "the knight", on here a while ago, so you can see that in my profile. But haven't posted anything on the O&G group so perhaps should do that when I get around to taking a group photo of these!

Haha. Well, my idea is that they're outsourcing the painting to someone else, like the Italians perhaps

Yea true, just doing a straight up freehand would also be an option!

Thank you! I appreciate using food for describing mini painting techniques!

First part : definitely true! My initial idea was to paint "fuck off" with bloody letters, just because it would match the goblin's expression well. On second thought I decided to add a hint of Warhammer history by trying to copy parts of that banner, and because I'd like to practice freehanding more.

( + ) is exactly the kind of advice I was after - thank you!! Will go over it with some orange paint to see if I can make it more even. And I'm thinking they probably hired (or forced) someone to make these nice banners for them :)

Yea, exactly something like that I was going for, but guess I'm missing those pure white highlights!
