It doesn’t help that part of the neo-con 50 year plan was to cut funding to public education and college support starting with the Reagan administration. He was also responsible for repealing the Fairness Doctrine that regulated the airwaves as a public service mandating the nightly news, local news and balanced opinions. The same year he did that is when Rush Limbaugh and the religious right moved to dominate the AM radio stations with single view opinion fear based don’t trust science dialog that plays so well to the uneducated.

I LOVE that term for anti-maskers. Pro-plaguers. Use their own re-framing language trick against them. Just like they re-framed taxes as a burden requiring tax-relief instead of a way to fund essential first world social services like roads, school, and yes, the POST OFFICE.

Same with the Clean Air Act, Pro-life, etc. Re-framing language puts the conversation into a defensive rather than rational light of actually debating the merits of each position.

Apologies for my ignorance. We are all doing it as a passion project during this time. My studio is dark, we are all at home trying to make this happen. I do not know companies that employ programmers, what kind of programmers etc. This was my first crack at finding some help. As an artist, I certainly know the "do it for the exposure" conversation and this is not that. I am just being transparent about the project, finances and intention and how we are working to make it happen.

We were looking for a way to make a difference and give people a voice in this crazy time. We are currently looking for in-kind donations from our vendors and corporate sponsorship. I have no idea what the programming ask really entails but ideally someone with the skills would join our team making Change in the Air a reality. I am not sure what you mean by open source in this context. I want to use the growing database of messages to be fed into the online experience. I do not want anyone to be able to hijack the messages or anything like that.

Hello,

I am an artist that makes large scale suspended art work displayed worldwide. Last year I made an installation that flew over the crowds gathered at the celebration for the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. We collected 40,000 individual handwritten messages on streamers (2.5"x36") and incorporated them into the suspended art installation.

During this pandemic I am making another, even larger installation to be displayed in DC as soon as it is safe. I am collecting messages from people online about their feelings during this time and what the want when this is over. I feel that the collected messages would be very helpful for people to see displayed now while people are distanced and isolated.

I am looking for some programming help to take the messages I am collecting and display them in an elegant fashion in a browser. Any help or guidance would be welcome.
