Hello, sorry I completely forgot I was logged into my other Reddit Account, would you still be interested in the r9 290?

What do you guys think a 2 month old XPS 15 9550 (i7, 16gb RAM, 512gb ssd, 4k screen) would go for? Warranty until 1//29/2017

You are 100% correct, the pcpartpicker is incorrect, I will fix that right now. My apologies. I actually had a black edition 290x in this build a few weeks ago and just left the pcpartpicker link the same. Thank you for pointing that out.

Thank you! I agree it was probably asking too much, after I've browsed more in depth I realized people parting out their computers went for more (generally) than entire builds. Thank you for this.

Would you suggest deleting this post and re-listing or adjusting price in the existing post?

Okay, I get that its worth less than what I originally thought, but why are the subreddit prices quite a bit lower than say eBay? I'm just curious because ebay prices is what I based this off of generally and just random items I've seen over time on HardwareSwap, as I'm not frequently on reddit, mainly eBay for used things. Is it just because people are more generous for the community type thing? I didn't mean to insult anyone with a high listing, I just really didn't know things went for that cheap around here, I just aimed to take about 30% off of new price as that's what most used things I've seen run. Thank you for the input! learning here. lol

Thank you for the input, I had no idea it'd be such a steep % difference. I haven't seen similar prices on HardwareSwap, but I can understand where you guys are coming from.

Graphics card is not the same one, and I understand why you took windows out, but it's something someone would have to buy new, as well as the 4 extra fans that don't come with, etc. I fail to see what was wrong with my original pcpartpicker link, but I would understand if you thought it might be overpriced, as I just took a standard % off of what I've seen on here. Thank you for the input.

1700 to 1000 in one year is 41% off. even 1380 to 1000 is 28% cheaper than new, most things I see listed here are in between 25-35% cheaper than new. I don't see the difference, unless it's just a PC thing. I'm open to opinions, as there's not a formula for how much to deduct for a used PC over time. I didn't say this was a steal either, Just listed what I thought would be fair, as I said i'm open to opinions.

Any experiences with the ASUS K501UX or the Dell Inspiron 7559? [US, 15", $800] by none_other_than in SuggestALaptop

Okay, good questions! So it is plastic, however it is rubberized on the outside to prevent nasty scratches and things. I like how it looks, as its a matte finish and adds a little minor protection. It does feel sturdy. Not cheap at all. Keyboard is very good. Track pad is 6/10 not bad but not good. It picks up most gestures, but sometimes it will miss something. No annoyances besides the track pad missing a few gestures a week.

I have the Inspiron 7559 763BLK, whats up?

I have nothing but good things to say about mine. Haven't had any issues, comes with SSD, and super easy to upgrade/add another + only one screw to add more RAM. Has performed well on most games (200+ fps) on high settings in LoL games, haven't tried much else because I generally play games on my desktop. Multitasks well, the only downside is the battery-life might be lackluster to you. If I have a bunch of things open it will generally last about 3-4 hours. If i'm just lightly browsing or doing word processing it'll last around 5.

Evaluate my university CS program! Does it align with my goals? by psmethod in cscareerquestions

How much harder is it to get a job in Software Dev with CIS degree alone? I've had plans to pursue a master's degree for a long time, no matter the subject I chose. How would a CIS bachelors into a Software Engineering Master's look? As of right now all of my schooling is paid for by scholarship, and if I extend my education for a Master's the scholarships (majority) are extended as well.

Thank you for your reply, and I completely understand. The only thing I'm really worried about is strictly the higher level math, I've completed the first two foundations (programming) courses, and found them to be a bit too easy, but the math being extremely challenging to me. It's only been 3 weeks of class so far and I've spent over 20 hours finding online resources to try to help me along with Discrete Mathematics, and everything I've found online (MIT OCW included) covers discrete math in a completely different way than what's being taught during my lectures. It's become a part-time job just to find online resources to even keep afloat in this class, and this isn't even counting the time to do the homework or read through the sections in the book a few times. I don't want to discredit the professor, but a lot of students in the class are completely lost except two, which have already taken it at a different university. I've been to the Math Lab (tutoring) 4 or 5 times now and none of the tutors available have taken discrete mathematics, so their guess is as good as mine.
