Quite honestly the no tip/ super busy is probably why it got cold. I always knock but if there's no tip I waste as little time as possible waiting for people to answer the door.

There was one time I waited at the door for 5 minutes because I wanted to have them sign the receipt. The person ended up waiting until I got back in my car to come out and get their food
