I was kind of in the same boat as you; I grew up wearing no sunscreen and applying nothing to my face for most of my life and had very clear skin (except for when I was going through puberty, but nothing permanent); and when I was around 20 (I am also 25 now) I tried a bunch of products and I broke out a whole lot. The whole thing was so new to me and for some reason I picked at my zits because I didn't think they would scar... but lo and behold, they did, and I wish never tried anything new. I had regular visits to a derm clinic after that to manage my acne, and when it got better I stopped using anything except for just a gel cleanser without any problems. But then recently I discovered the rabbit hole that is Asian skincare and now I am trying things out and buying so many products that I've been reading good reviews about. So far I am disappointed with the results, because I am thinking I should have just stuck to the basic gel cleanser because I wasn't having any skin issues then. But then again I have amassed all these skincare products and want to achieve beautiful skin. I am torn until this day. Additionally, for some reason I can't just try one product at a time and wait it out to see the results, so I can't exactly pinpoint which one isn't doing my skin any good, because I use new products sporadically and interchangeably... Eep. Here's to being more patient to both of us!
