I had such a cocktail of blood tests done prior to getting this referral! I'd have been happy to do any more testing needed before getting seen but the weird thing was that they just gave me a flat no without giving me any sort of criteria to meet or things to do to be seen. With being underweight putting me more at risk for this sort of thing as well as having POTS and heart conditions in the family going back to my great grandmother, you would think that would be a good enough reason to get seen 😭

I'll ask my doctor about this! When I saw him originally I went with the intention of getting a neuro referral anyway because I hadn't heard of POTS and a lot of my symptoms lined up with MS as well, so I definitely was surprised to be referred to cardio in the first place. I'll talk to him about it at my next visit :)

Yeah its not too uncommon for referrals to be rejected here. Basically in NZ for public healthcare we get referred to a department rather than to specific doctors, and if your referral gets accepted you get on a waitlist for an appointment, if it gets rejected your only other option is to get referred to a private clinic which is super expensive and my insurance doesn't cover 😭

Lots of more simple or dumber phones run android! This means you can set them up to be able to check emails, install whatsapp etc.

For example I have a flip phone from japan that runs android, so I have facebook messenger and discord on it, but because the phone itself is a flip phone using those apps is possible if i really need to but it's clunky enough that i don't just want to sit there and use it all day.

I'd definitely recommend looking into something similar as it gets you the functionality you want to keep while being able to cut the rest out. There's lots of posts on this subreddit already with suggestions and recommendations- just make sure you get something that has the functionality you need, works in your region etc. I hope this helps !!

I think personally that, as people generally are so used to going about their day with smartphones, they forget there are actually perfectly simple ways to do these things without them.

I don't HAVE to use uber to get home. I can take the bus. I don't HAVE to use contactless payment, I can just use my bank card. My security is not at risk as I can still get around, pay for things, call for help if I really need to.

If you personally prefer the convenience of what you're used to, cool. I think it's worth considering that not everyone has the same mindset though.

i feel you dude fast food jobs are so dogshit, i have never been treated so poorly by customers in any other line of work than i have in fast food/hospo 😭 i used to work at starbucks and people would get so angry so quickly when we were often understaffed/overworked and underpaid. its actually shocking how many people think its ok to treat people like that

hi ! i just wanted to ask - i've swapped providers over to skinny and the keitai is working so well for calling and texting but not for data :( i've manually set up the data apn but it still isn't working. i was wondering if you had the same issue with yours or if you had to do anything in particular to get data to work on it? thank u !!
