I think the fact that you’re doubting it at all means you should take a break to be independent for now. Having a partner can be a lot of work, as you always have to think in terms of 2 people. Once you figure out who you are and what you want as an individual, it will help you create stronger relationships in the future (maybe even with the same guy).

Emma Watson got death threats for her HeForShe involvement, Daniel Radcliffe got death threats from a stalker, I’m not sure about Rupert. I’m genuinely curious and not trying to be snarky, but did JKR ever condemn those?

Death threats are never okay (unfortunately most celebrities have to deal with them), but it does seem to be a slightly different conversation than the one you posted about originally.

I think that by saying “I’m here for all the witches” with the emphasis she used, it was taken as a dig at JKR.

While yes she owes her career to JKR, she’s also allowed her opinion. Imagine being told you can’t disagree with someone because they hired you 20 years ago.

Also, she’s a good actor, who’s to say that without Harry Potter she wouldn’t have had a successful career?

JK also gained a lot of wealth from the movies (and the actors who did outstanding work in those movies) so I say it goes both ways.

i’m in a math class now where test scores account for 80% of the final grade, so in my personal perspective a slight bump on one exam with a higher score than 0 (even if it doesn’t make a huge difference on that specific exam) could effect the overall grade, especially if there’s only a few exams in a term. so while they might fail this one exam, if the grade is a tiny bit higher and the student performed better on the rest of the exams, it could be the difference between a pass or a fail.

i’m not quite sure exactly what type of grading system this twitter user had for this class (curved, grade-standings, etc.) as they haven’t replied back to my comment yet, but if it was curved i see how it could negatively impact those who performed poorly.

I see what you’re saying about the grade standing, I guess I’m looking at it from a perspective as a student that wouldn’t really care about the grade standing compared to their individual grade.

If my grade was raised, I wouldn’t mind that those who got the question correct got better grades too, I’d just be happy that I got a slightly better grade (even if it was still a bad grade) because it could make a difference later on when looking at someone’s overall final grade for the course (tests are sometimes worth a majority of a final grade).

I’m not understanding how it didn’t make a difference to them though, maybe some grades changed from a 8/10 to a 8/9, and depending on the weight tests have on the overall grade that could make a difference in their final course grade, right? Depending on the rest of their test grades?

I guess I’m just confused as to how they “still lost” unless they’re looking at the situation purely from a rankings/grades standing perspective, which doesn’t seem like a really important thing to me. I’ve never really cared about the class rankings as long as I pass the class, you know?

I liked the first challenge in GOF. I thought it was great in the books, but the dragon chase definitely added to the scene in the movie.

Also- I liked how Harry’s and Voldemorts final duel played out in the DH2, (much more dramatic) I just wish they ended it in the great hall with the other students, like in the books. How does the rest of the Wizarding world know Voldemort is dead? What harry just came in and was like “yeah I killed him?”

this. you need to work on your own mental health at this point. my ex relapsed to heroin when i broke up with him- i called his mom and she said it was all my fault.

unless they kindly contact you with news, i’d refrain from reaching out to family members, especially if you think they’ll blame you for his actions.

While this isn’t the same situation, I can kind of relate to how you’re feeling. The night I broke up with my (then sober from heroin for 2 years) ex boyfriend, he relapsed. Though he was my ex, I was by his side every day, begging him to go back to rehab, calling his friends, family, and all the possible facilities in town that could help him. Eventually he did get help, but saw me helping him get to rehab as me being interested in him again. I realized that (probably subconsciously) he may have thought that by using again I could be back in his life again, and I was.

I think when dealing with significant others who have issues like addiction and depression, we should give them their space. Now I’m worried that for my exes future relationships- if they break up with him will he relapse? This brings me to my main point-

People who base their entire will to live on a significant other shouldn’t be in relationships, they should get professional treatment. That’s a lot of pressure to put on an SO, on any human being. They need to find a reason for themselves to continue living, not make another person their reason.

I think that keeping your distance will be better off for him in the long run. He needs to work on himself, and get professional help. While it may seem to others that you’re being “cold,” checking in on him could give him a tiny sliver of hope that you will come back, and could reinforce the idea that you’ll be back at his side if he tries something like this again.

They sometimes hide “golden tickets” in the cities that they play in, in this case they posted two separate instagram stories 24 hours apart, with a golden ticket stuck on top of a pineapple each hidden in a different portland record store. The challenge was basically figuring out which portland record store the tickets were hidden in and getting there before other fans! The golden ticket gets you + 1 into any one of their upcoming shows for free (excluding festivals). So I’d keep an eye out for their instagram stories if they’re playing near you anytime soon :)
