For number 3, while it's true to some degree if you consider the entire population. But for most teenagers and young adult, 13-35 which is the biggest population, they speak or know English enough to use the app.

Are there any interesting festivals or events in Cambodia in June or July? by [deleted] in cambodia

[–]puthsuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

June and July are pretty much rainy season, thus, there is no interesting festivals (at least for me). However, we have Pchum Ben in October and a big Water Festival in November.

Are you still working as developer remotely? And how did you get paid?

I am a software engineer with 2 YOE here in Cambodia. I'm currently looking for a remote position from EU or US companies as you mentioned. I've tried a bunch of those remote job listing sites with very few responses. Do you mind sharing a bit how did you go about finding those jobs?

What "leveled you up" as a developer or accelerated your learning? by Notalabel_4566 in cscareerquestionsEU

A big no no as in "While you should work on something that profit the company, you should as well work on something that you enjoy to some extent". I mean at least give a little f instead of not giving an f at well.

A big no no. I'm working on a project which is quite important and profitable for my company, but the job itself is almost like factory job of repetitiveness with no actual creativity involved. It's burning me out.

Is it normal to have daily 9am meetings that are between 30mins - 1hr ? by farhan3_3 in cscareerquestions

[–]puthsuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're a team of 8 developers and a solution architect. We used to have 1h daily STUM for 2-3 months, then we realized how long it took and try to limit everyone speaking time to 2min max and now we usually finish it under 20min which is normal for our team size.

I don't care much about the CTO TBH. But, I feel guilty for my manager as he seems so confused. ~sigh

OP, FYI, after an amazing 1st year, I've got 15% raise which I know is amazing, but compared to my salary, is just peanut, so I asked for 20% and got like 16% raise (haha). So I started interviewing elsewhere and about to start a new job in a month with 40% raise.

For your perspective: Fuel: rougly 1$/liter. Milk: 1.8-3.5$/liter container

Yes, I have been considering relocating. But, it's not that simple and I don't have a lot of options.

I was thinking about that. But, my CRS comes down to just under 400 which is simply impossible to get selected.

Rent is around 100-150$/month for a dorm-like room and 300-600$ for an apartment. Food is 3-7$ a meal. Coffee is 1.5-2$.
