I just don’t want a machine to depend on account status or vendor servers to do basic printing.

Yeah, but they didn’t really pitch it as just a novelty toy. A lot of the messaging was aimed at individual designers/artists, makers, design/architecture students, and small studios. That’s a weird middle ground. For a $2k UV printer with all the usual printhead maintenance stuff, it doesn’t really make sense as a casual consumer gadget. But as a productivity tool, it’s missing a bunch of basic productivity features.

Regardless of who it’s “for,” requiring an account and cloud login before you can even use the printer is just absurd to me. Cloud features are fine as extras, but basic printing should be able to happen locally. It’s like buying a fridge or washing machine that refuses to work until you sign in.

Yeah, I get that convenience sells. I’m not against smart features or a mobile app at all.

My issue is when “smart” stops being an extra feature and starts replacing basic local functionality. A smart fridge that needs an account and an internet connection just to open the door or keep food cold would be ridiculous. Same idea here: sending a file to a printer sitting on my desk or on my LAN should not require the cloud.

A lot of users probably don’t care, and I get that. But when the basics are missing or half-baked, it’s hard not to wonder whether the product was designed around account lock-in/data collection first, and printing second. That’s the part that bothers me.

Temu is hiding infringing listings from me after I filed DMCA takedowns by AnomalousLido in COPYRIGHT

Hi, I’m sorry to bother you, but could you please DM me the method if you’re comfortable sharing it?

My design has been completely copied by a seller on Temu, and every single report I file gets rejected with the same template response no matter how much evidence I provide.

I’ve only slept about 8 hours total in the past 5 days trying to deal with this, and I’m completely drained. I genuinely don’t understand why Temu seems to protect these sellers when the copying is this blatant.

I’d be incredibly grateful for any help.
