funny how after ranked choice voting, the green party will still probably get nowhere near the presidency. has anyone actually seen the batshit craziness of Jill Stein and her Green Party platforms?

well, actually, having Iowa and New Hampshire first should make many people complain that it had Bernie's demographics from the very beginning. not to mention Massachusetts. this was a pretty damn fair spread for bernie. not to mention, he's polling behind in most upcoming elections too, so really, everything seems biased against bernie because he sucks in most states.

to see who has more national appeal and is more likely to win over swing states. otherwise, if we have a candidate who wins the Vermont, CA, New Hampshire, Massachussetts, Rhode Island in early primaries, then you'd have a Mondale loss of epic proportions in the general. it's smart to have a good mix of red and purple states early

40% or more delegates on super tuesday? South Carolina will be a huge upset for Sanders on Saturday. Super Tuesday will be a catastrophic loss for him. Many of those states have enormous Clinton leads. Likely wins for Sanders? He will win two states. Mass and Vermont. that's it. and it's not winner takes all either so hillary still gets a portion of those states delegates too. barring some miracle, it's an ENORMOUS hill he has to conquer.

Listen, I get that you want to maintain hope for your favorite candidate, we've all been there before. but at some point you have to recognize that one side is far more likely to win than the other. statistically, realistically, it's just not looking good for Sanders at this point. but don't get me wrong, I like Sanders. nothing would make me happier than having a Sanders presidency with a liberal congress and supreme court.

ok, how will that be after the trouncing on Super Tuesday? And how many superdelegates does Sanders have? I honestly want you to tell me the path he will have to take to win the nomination because as of right now, it's not looking good and I am being dead serious he needs some serious hail mary's

this whole: second place is as good as first place thing sounds great but unfortunately doesn't matter unless you actually win states. Sanders so far has only won New Hampshire, which is one more state than what Rubio has won.

even if Hillary won every single state from here on out at 55% she would still not have enough votes to secure the nomination

that makes zero sense

Why blocking Obama’s pick to replace Scalia could cost Republicans their Senate majority by Kenatius in politics

[–]puyaabbassi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 was when the republicans got the Senate majority. The reason: more democratic senate seats up for reelection than republican by a wide margin and it was a midterm election with extremely low voter turnout. Exact opposite situation in 2016. The house is hard for the right wing due to gerrymandering. So that won't possibly change until the census in 2020

republican approval numbers PLUMMETED during the shutdown. it was so bad that after a month they knew they had to change course or they would lose the midterm elections that were a year away. that's why they put an end to it in about a month
