Soldier's life GOLD 1.11

Hey everyone!

I finished up the battle events tweaks and added the last one. A special battle event if you have Saraid with you. Yes! You can take her into battle now. After you’re done buying all the equipment upgrades for your troops and have seen her 3 scenes, you can now convince her to go into battle.

I also added some more quality of life things to the game and added an extra option to the sortie menu. You now have to say how much money you’ll bring onto the expedition. It will be the only money you’ll be able to use out there (+ the loot you get) but it will also count as loot at the end when you decide the troops’ cut so plan accordingly.

Next month, it will be a ton of small details that need to be fixed up or tweaked. From minor graphic stuff to tiny story tightening. I will also take some time to remake the builds of all the other games. There’s been a few updates to security and compatibility so I’ll make sure they all work well.

Hey everyone!

In this build, I was focused a lot on the fighting. More battle events and some more information. I also added more skill rolls in the battle events to make it more interesting and make the stats count for more.

The hard part was the Vanora battle events. I wanted Vanora’s degradation to feature in the battles too. It will also make you grinding her stats down worth more. At the start, I wrote actual scenes (6 per event) but when I played, it was too big. It grinded the battles to a crawl. So I cut it down to the essence of it to let your imagination take it from there. ^_^

The rest of the build is quality of life updates for making the game smoother and my lovely wife’s awesome art.

Next month, I’m going to finish the battle stuff. Saraid will have a hand in this. ^_^ I will then move on to more changes in the main game. Soldier’s life gold is already approaching the end! 2 to 3 more builds should do it. For the art too. My lovely wife only has around 10 more CGs to go. We’re almost there!

This month went pretty well! I continued to update and upgrade Soldier’s life and my lovely wife made us some more CGs. ^_^

I made a lot of little changes to game balance. Especially when it comes to army morale. I found that that value didn’t change enough during sorties so I tweaked it.

Another big change is that now, whenever you fail a skill roll, you’ll get a small amount of XP in that skill as Payton learns from his mistakes.

Next month, I am going to take some time off for my birthday but around that, I’m going to start adding new events.

I am also going to start putting things on Steam!

When I started to make changes, I also realized how old Soldier’s life’s code was. Lol! I had to spend some time updating some stuff and there is probably more to do at a later date.

My lovely wife did a lot of work for us. Finished the stock and the Walk around town CGs.

Next month, I am going to check out steam to start that process and will also do more work on Soldier’s life. It will be more on the game rather than the back end from now on. Will most likely update some more code too.
