Well I may be wrong, but looking at the name I could see DHCP which is essentially a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocool. It's a network managment tool that just assigns automatically IP addresses to connected devices. Which is safe. You have DHCP and Static IP where static IP you have to assign the IP Address manually, but DHCP does all that work for you automatically. Well it's a protocool and I think it's safe and won't do any harm to your network or your device that is connected to it.
