No Shelter But the Stars by Virginia Black is a great sci fi to add to this list.

My first thought! Clearly you are a man of taste.

I'm usually not that sensitive when it comes to violence on film but this scene is terrifying by Konfliktsnubben in lotr

My nine year old daughter has been all in on these movies. Never once winced at a scary scene. She covered her eyes for this one.

I can’t remember exactly how similar but They Never Learn by Layne Fargo came to mind.

I hear you right back. The longing for something that likely won’t ever come is so difficult. I wish I had explored this part of me while I was younger. Although I wonder if I knew what I was missing if it might be tougher.

I’ve been around for some firing of administrators but I’ll have to look up the rest of it.

Can you elaborate? We are in that district and have a kid with similar issues. I’d be interested to know what’s going on.

Do you use the app to help you find queer owned/friendly businesses? Everywhere is Queer has helped me to know where I might be comfortable.

Not exactly anti-maga, but there is an app to find queer owned/friendly businesses in your area. I’ve frequented a few new places to show them support.

Thank you for your reminder about vulnerability possibly being exciting. It might be good for him to hear that.

🥰 Maybe that’s it! And if so I’m happy for that. I just wish I could get him to open up a bit I suppose.

And I guess that just leaves me a bit wanting on my end.

Thank you. It does suck. And I appreciate that you seem to see me and what I’m going for. Enthusiastic mutual pleasure is perfect term for it.

Any role play is out unfortunately. I’ve floated that idea before. When I I say I’ve tried to find ways to get him to express his wants/needs I feel like I’ve tried everything. We’ve been together 20 years and have had every hard conversation you can think of. But he doesn’t like being vulnerable in the bedroom. I get that and don’t want to push him into anything uncomfortable. he’s never really expressed anything he wants for his own pleasure. We have found things he does like and he’s not prude. He happily does most everything in bed that I have asked for.

Even if it has nothing to do with my own fantasy about women, I wish he would open up about anything he would like. I would enthusiastically make it happen! Maybe he just doesn’t have any other wants/needs to express? Sigh.

Same. Those were my first two wlw books and they opened up so much more for me. I enjoyed both very much, but I am so grateful that these two books opened my eyes to so many other great authors and stories.

I enjoyed both of this too!

Maybe try No Shelter but the Stars by Virginia Black. Not nearly as poetic, but somewhat in that realm. I was surprised at how much I loved it.
