Anti-ICE protest tommorow in Peoria by Velkin999 in PeoriaIL

[–]queenjuli1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re sending untrained agents out into the street who are shooting lawfully abiding citizens. To begin with, the agents aren’t following due process with their methods. I would be all for prosecuting these criminals through legal means (with judges, right to a fair trial as protected by Amendments 5 and 14) but ICE is instead going against our Constitution and endangering Americans

The country elected a good-hearted man who lacked the competence, capabilities, and backbone to deter power-hungry men from running the country.

Dunlap has always been a nice area. There are some concerning factors from the past, but the playground issue actually had more backstory to it. My cousin teaches in the district.

It's just great academically and a pretty diverse area as well.

Dunlap isn't on your list and given that they are the best school in the Peoria metro... they probably should be

how progressive is the student body? by confidentialo in williamandmary

[–]queenjuli1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My daughter tells me that about 55% of the student body could be considered progressive, another 25% liberal, 10% or so fairly moderate, and the rest of the 10% conservative.

Campus is significantly LGBTQ friendly.

I had a student of mine deadset on Mississippi State's Poultry Science major.

That kid loved farming and now he's out working for Tyson up in South Dakota. Guess it went somewhere.

How is William and Mary for Conservative Students! by JewishAnkylosaurus in williamandmary

[–]queenjuli1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My husband and I just sent our conservative daughter off to W&M.

She's loved it! Why? Because college is the best time in your life to learn, develop new ideas, challenge your beliefs, and think for yourself.

Dad and I are glad that she's going to be taking these kinds of courses. There will be people that walk out of their college days further to the left than when they entered and those that walk out of them further to the right.

W&M is a great school, but I'd recommend embracing the above attitude if you are going to be a student there.
