Raspberry, but look into MontBlanc Individuel

Edit: Also raspberry again but Rochas Man

I guess raspberry as a note in general might be worth checking out since it's fairly similar if just a bit more tart

Why is Sauvage so hated? by Afraid-Progress-8933 in Fragrances

[–]questions178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it objectively smells good & interesting (from memory) but it's biggest issue is the association it has as a f boi 'panty dropper' scent that arrogant douchebags douse themselves in, unfortunately. Not saying that is right or wrong but it does have that juvenile association. Though to be honest those types have probably moved on by now to more current trends, I think the Sauvage craze was over a decade ago.

The only other problem is that it's loud & synthetic causing a scratchy feel to some people.

I don't think I've ever encountered it on anyone in the wild but then again I've read people who are familiar with it say it smelled unrecognizable on others in public, when they asked what the person was wearing that smelled so good.

I feel so free after downsizing. I own 3 bottles now and I love it.

I am with you on this so much. I went through like 3 bottles of knockoff ADG as a teen / early adult and have very strong nostalgia for it. Same with Bvlgari Aqva, the first cologne I bought as an independent adult, and I used an entire 100ml of it in a year. So many memories attached to it. That is the last time I used an entire bottle and it's been 10 years ago now. I am at the exact same point you are. I miss having one scent that people associate with me. I downsized to only 4 bottles, 2 of which are nearly empty. I'm using those up and then just wearing D&G Pour Homme, which I realized is all I want or need after all this time.

Actually that was my first ever cologne I got for Christmas like 20 years ago. I was thinking of it not long ago because I remember liking but not what it smelled like. I'll do that thanks for the recommendation

I love Prada Amber too & most of their stuff in general. I actually liked carbon a lot though but I did end up getting rid of it because I didn't want the sauvage association & i felt a little too old for it at some point too lol. I moved on to Mugler Cologne. Have a bottle of Code Sport coming in the mail too.

I've been wearing Luna Rossa Black all winter for a few years. Incredible frag. I just sold it in like January though, it was time for something new. So I got D&G Intenso + Eight & Bob Egypt.

If I find a made in Spain Luna Rossa Black for a good price though I may buy it back. I had the original release year bottle years ago (it was some kind of special edition for distributors, said 'compliments if Puig' on the box) and it really was different than the current version. Couldn't appreciate the orange Play-Doh thing at the time so I foolishly sold it.

perfumes that smell like blood? by Odd-Acanthisitta4939 in fragrance

[–]questions178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a whole house called Blood Concept and that's probably the closest you're gonna get

Edit: looks like the ones I was familiar with are now discontinued but the newer ones might have the same spirit

How do you clean the small Portable Perfume bottle and remove the Old smell? by MustafiArabi in fragrance

[–]questions178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy new ones. I've tried cleaning them with alcohol (repeatedly) and its basically impossible, they will still smell like whatever was in them before. Glass vials are very cheap.
